When i was little my mom used to tell us that our clothes were alive and woke up when we were sleeping and had parties in the closet, same went for our barbies :/
I used to think that all closets were connected, so I wore stuff that belonged to somebody else and someone else wore my clothes. That made perfect sense as to why my clothes disappeared for a few days every week (obviously, they were being washed) I used scissors to cut a bit off my clothes, so I wouldn't get confused. My mom was so angry at me when she found out what I did. I can still see her face to this day.
I used to believe that at night lazers would come out of the wall plugs and zap me, so once I was tucked in I stayed put. I used to run really fast to the bathroom because then the lazers couldn't keep up.
for some reason i used to believe there was a witch hiding in my closet. I thought i could see her eyes glowing between the slats, and I would put the covers over my head and try to breathe without letting my chest rise or fall, so that she wouldn't know I was there.
When I was nine I watched the movie "The Blair Witch Project." I also had this very small trap door in my closet that opened up to a large room filled with insulation. At the far end I could see broken pottery and a newspaper and decided only someone who could fly could get over there without falling through. Therefore my brother managed to convince me that she lived in the door in my closet. For a year after that I slept in his room because I was so scared.
I use to believe that John Goodman hung in a trench coat in my closet at night and would peek out of it to scare me...Apparently the sitcom Rosanne scared the hell out of me
As a child I had this continuous dream of walking into my closet where there was a hidden passage way to a store owned by my mother. It was only until the third or fourth time after having this dream, that one morning when i woke up i actually went straight to that closet to look for this "secret" passage way. I was a little let down when i realized it wasnt there.
When i was little I used to seriously believe that Frankenstein lived in my closet. Every night I looked in the way back (where there was a small crawl space) and never saw anything, but I insisted that he came out after the lights came out. Then my dad told me that Frankenstein is over 7 feet tall and couldn't possibly live in the closet, So I thought he must be able to magically shrink and needed to get out and stretch at night!
I used to believe that during thunderstorms the boogieman was in my closet. For some reason I had a mental image of him looking like a mummy, wrapped in bandages. No wonder I slept with my mom as a kid.
I used to believe that the flying monkees from the Wizard of Oz lived in the closet at the top our stairs. Every time I would go down, I would try to go at least two at a time so they would not get me.
I had a nightmare one day that there was a man hiding in my closet and no one believed me and he ended up killing my entire family. For a couple of months I made sure to put various objects around the knobs of my closet to tie it shut. I however still can't sleep with the closet open.
I remember I used to always think that the wetsuit that my dad kept in my closet was a person waiting to get me the minute I fell asleep. This must have been when I was really little, I think this must have been when I got my first "big girl bed" because I couldn't see the closet from where my crib had been. I remember lying in bed too afraid to move staring at that dark humanoid shape until I would finally pass out. I would go into the closet fearlessly during the light of day and knew that the shape I saw at night was the wetsuit but I must have thought it transformed after dark, once the bedroom door was shut. I'm still freaked when alone somewhere, I check every closet in my apartment each time I come home so I guess I was destined to be paranoid from a young age.
I used to beleive there was a ghost in my closet, but one night as i was getting changedi opened it and it was just my dad with a camera, then it went black and i woke up with a sore bum.
I got my sister to believe that when I would go into my closet and close the door, I was taking an elevator up to SEARS. She would beg to come, but I wouldn't let her. I would even make elevator noises with my mouth!
I used to believe that sequins grew on trees-- when I was small I refused to wear sequined clothing. I now know the truth, however, I still don't like wearing sequins. :)
I used to believe that a dead cow lived in my closet. The cow could come to life at night and was a glow-in-the-dark cow. I was absolutely terrified that some night it would come out of my closet and get me.
i really don't know where the heck this belief came from.
i used to believe that if i looked under my bed or in my closet the monster would come and take me into his relm.
Once when I was little I heard my dad referring to somebody as being "in the closet" and thought they really were locked inside of a closet somewhere and couldn't get out.
Then I met the guy in question and his boyfriend, and everything got cleared up.
when I was about 4, I used to think that on Black Friday, everything would actually turn black. A half a year ago I got a pair of white boots which I thought were the ugliest things, but I would have loved them black. I woke up on Black Friday and was very disappointed to see that they were still white.
My brother had a stamp of two little feet - foot prints, and I guess one day while I was not in my room he went and stamped them all over my closet door. I honestly believed there was a little man living in my closet... looked for him all night and day. lol
