I used to think that if someone was quitting smoking "cold turkey", it meant that every time they had a craving for a cigarette they would go to the fridge and eat a piece of cold turkey instead and that would make the craving go away. I figured that's why everyone said it was so hard to quit "cold turkey", because I didn't really see how eating meat could help. And I believed this until high school!
When i was much younger i used to think that a fag was a word for people who didnt know how to smoke and i used to think they were really stupid and so i laughted at them, now i know and now i realise how stupid i was!!!

When I was 7, I thought if you started smoking and didn't stop, you would instantly get cancer and die. So when I saw my sister start smoking, I screamed and ran to my room and started crying.

I used to think all grownups smoked cuz the ones around me did. But i never wanted to smoke cuz it smelled bad. Now i'm very glad i don't have to cuz i know better and i still hate the smell.

i used to believe that smoking refer was the same as smoking squares. well at least the same affect.. until i actually found out for myself...... ya well refer and squares aren't the same and nether is shrums and pot so ...there lots of differences..... alot...!

When people smoked tobacco with the pipe, I thought that they were actually cooking up something with fire. When it was done "cooking", they would suck the pipe and "eat" some sweet-tasting, warm, gooey caramel-like substance.

i used to think that ciggerattes were those skinny little pretzals so when me and my mom were in the grocery store, i would always ask for a pack of ciggerattes.I got ssooooo many stares

When I was little I hated my mom smoking and tried hard to make her quit but she said she couldn't. I didn't believe her. Then when I was 15 I smoked to get a girl who smoked to like me. It wasn't long before I found out mom was telling the truth. I tried and tried and tried but I could not quit. I was now a nicotine addict too.

I used to believe that only men smoked cigarettes and only women drank coffee. I guess this because my dad smoked but didn't drink coffee and my mom drank coffee and didn't smoke. When my dad's (male) friend drank coffee in the morning I was preplexed.
I use to believe that people said dont second hand smoke i thought it ment you smoke with 1 cigar in each hand or when you had 2 cigars in one hand.I belived this till i was 12.

when i was small i always use to ask my parents for a cigarette, one day my dad told me that untill i was 16 my fingers would go orange and drop off if i had a cigarette

My dad used to smoke so obviously I thought it was a thing that only dad's did cos mum's dad and dad's dad did too. When i first saw my brother smoking I asked him if he was going to be a dad and was practising. My brothar looked at me wide-eyed, him and his girlfriend were about to have their first child! You can imagine how span out he was! I have recently learnt from experience you don't have to be a dad, you can be a daughter too!

Until my Junior year of High School I thought a roach was bug - six legs, never dies kinda bug. I could never understand why anyone ever smoked one or was excited to find one in their house.

I used to believe that when you could smoke on a cigarette even if the smoke didn't come out. only experienced smokers knew how to make the smoke come out, and the people who let the cigarette hang out of their mouth weren't experienced enough. I never knew why they put fire to it, and i never made the connection that that was where the smoke came from. I learned that when I was about seven

When I was a kid about 7 or 8 I noticed an odd odor and saw that my mom and my aunt were smoking.."a different" kind of cigarettes. My mom told me that they were "cigarettes without filters". Not knowing at the time that they were actually smoking marijuana, the next time I was at the store with her and she was buying some Parliament 100's, I asked if she could get the "cigarettes without filters" since they smelled really good.

one day i saw beetlejuice the movie, and the lady smokes through her throat or something like that so then i thought that when you smoked you smoked through your throat...
