my mum used 2 say that if i sucked my thumb, it would shrink and i wouldnt have any thumbs left lol!!!

that sucking your thumb would cause buck teeth. when i was little my mom tried all sorts of things to get me to stop. one night she put hot pepper juice on it. i rubbed my eyes and got the juice in it. she had to get up and wash out my eyes. i did not stop. i still occasionally suck my thumb when i go to bed and i'm 24

I used to suck my thumb until i was 7 yrs old. my mommy and daddy told my that if i didn't stop my thumb would fall off and i would only have 9 fingers and not 10. now my thumb is all wrinkly and looks different from the other one! I think while i was sleepin my mom put somethin on my thumb and when i woke up i stopped that habit!

I sucked my thumb until I was eleven years old. I only stopped because my father threatened to leave my family for another woman halfway around the world. i thought that if i had finally stopped, that he wouldn't go because both parents would become proud of me for kicking the habit. i also stopped because i learned that, when mixed with fluoride, sucking ur thumb does a number on your teeth. and trust me, it's not pretty.
I used to believe that when you sucked your thumb it would make it shorter but i dont know if it is true because me nan sucked hers when she was little and it is tiny

When me and my brother were really we would suck our thumbs(like every little kid does when there lil). Then 1 day my mom told us if we suck on our thumb for along time our thumb would grow out of our butt and it would become a tail.

In first grade, my friend Jonathan and I had a bad habit of sucking our thumbs all the time. Everyone started copying us to the point were almost everyone in first grade(and some kindergardeners) sucked their thumb all day long.
In order to stop everyone from sucking their thumb my teacher(A Nun) told us that if we continued to suck our thumbs, that they would fill with water and either eventually fall off or explode!!! I imagined life without a thumb and having to explain to my mom that my thumb exploded because I wouldn't stop sucking it. It creeped me out.
I stopped immediantly, but Jonathan sucked his thumb until 3rd grade...go figure...

I was a thumb sucker, my mum tried everything to make me stop. She told me that if i carried on my tummy would blow up like a balloon. We were on the bus oneday when a preganant woman got on.... i shouted out at the top of my voice " LOOK MUMMY SHES BEEN REALLY NAUGHTY, WE ALL KNOW WHAT SHES BEEN DOING!"..... ooops!

I had this friend when I was younger, and she told me if you sucked your thumb for long enough it would turn to toffee. She was a lot older than me, so naturally I believed her. Needless to say I was v disappointed when it didn't work......

When I was 7-8, I still sucked my thumb. Well, not infront of my friends. My parents tried to find excuses for me to stop, until my father came up with, "If you keep sucking your thumb, all the skin will come off and your bones will be left!" That did the trick.

I used to suck my thumb(until about 9). One day my mom said that in the middle of the night she would put tape on, then put hot peepers stuck onto the tape. I believed her.
I was so scared I tried my hardest to stop, but I couldn't!
When I was young, I used to suck my thumb all the time and my Mom couldn't seem to get me to stop. Then one day at the dentist's office, he said to her that if I didn't stop sucking my thumb, it'd push my teeth out. He meant that it would make my teeth crooked, but I thought that I'd really push them out of my mouth! That scared the habit out of me.

Growing up my younger sister sucked her thumb until she was almost 12 (I kid you not) I used to think that if she kept sucking it, it would be sucked away into nothingness, like a lolipop.

when i was 2 or 3 there was this helper at my daycare. she was my favorite helper so i believed everything she said. well i used to suck my thumb and she said one of her sister's friends sucked their thumb and their thumb turned hot pink and their teeth stuck out like a walrus. well, being a little girl, i didn't care about the hot pink thumb part. (it was my favorite color back then!) i didn't know what a walrus was so i asked her. she showed me a picture and i thought that was what i would turn into! i was afraid that i would become all gray and wrinkly and get walrus teeth and walrus whiskers. i never sucked my thumb again!

When my sister was little she used to suck her thumb. Well when she was about six my mom tried everything, nail polish, bandades, and mittens. Nothing worked. Then one night my sister was sucking her thumb and my mom told her that one day her thumb would start smoking and fall off. Well the next day wa really cold and my sister was outside and sucking her thumb, when she took it out it was steaming and she got scared... Well she never sucked her thumb again...
