I thought my thumb could get smaller when I sucked on it

My mum once told me that if I sucked my thumb it would shrink, so when I saw this girl at school (who always sucked her thumb) she burst into tears.
Niether of us sucked our thumbs ever again!

i used to suck my thumb, & i was about eight when my mom finally said it was enough. She tried everything she put pepper on it, vasiline, gloves, all kinds of stuff and i would still continue to suck my thumb. I finally only sucked it when i was tired or going to sleep. But i never just up and stopped, i kind of grew out of it. I don't really think you can just stop.

When i was 3 years od my mom told me that if i sucked my thumb it would fall off totaly!!!!LOL

i didnt start sucking my thumb untill i was about 6 or 7 when i saw my younger brother doing it and to this day (i'll be truning 16 in a few days) its the only thing that will calm me down. lol sad i know
