When I was little, I believed that if I didn't wear socks to bed, a man from across a field near our house, would bite my feet.

I was led to believe by my parents that I would only grow while I was sleeping before midnight. Thus, the earlier I went to bed the bigger I would grow.

I used to believe nobody moved or breathed when they slept... so when I pretended to be asleep I would hold my breath and 'talk in my dreams' to cover up my breathing!

I don't remember what age this was around but I used to believe that restrooms were rooms with several beds in them that people could lie down in when they got tired.

When I was in kindergarten, I used to think that people stopped breathing when they went to sleep. After learning from my mother that they didn't, I was shocked!

When I was a child, i loved Michael Jackson, and still do. I thought he took me to Neverland at night because all of the dreams were in there, and he would watch over me. Most of my friends told me they don't dream so I thought I was the only one Michael gave dreams to.

I used to think that you were only supposed to breathe when you were asleep so I would try to hold my breath for as long as possible during the day

I used to believe that I couldn't fall asleep until I yawned, and that I would have to be COMPLETELY still afterword. If I moved at all, I would have to wait until I yawned again and didn't move before I could fall asleep.

A lady at our church had been through a stroke causing one side of her face to droop. Our mom informed my brother and I that it was because she slept with a fan blowing on that side of her face, which we loved to do every night. Consequently we moved our fans down by our feet. Touche Mom!

I used to think that when you slept, you stoped breathing. I would pretend to be asleep when my parents came into my room, and hold my breath. I would end up gasping for breath, revieling that I was awake.

When I was a kid, I used to believe that ducks walked across your face at night and poop, and that's where eye crusties came from. I used to try and stay up as late as I could to try and see the duck.

I used to believe that I could hear bugs living in my ears when I'd lay down on my side to go to sleep. I was terrified that I'd have to have brain surgery to get them out. Years later I realized this was just the blood pulsing in my head.

When I was little it would take me what seemed like forever to fall asleep. I always envied my parents who could fall asleep within minutes. I believed that when you grew up you gained the skill to fall asleep quickly.

When I was a child, my father told me that sleeping with my socks on would make my feet fall off. I still don't sleep with socks on.

I used to believe that if I fell asleep with my mouth open, a bad guy (like a criminal type) would come put sleeping pills into my mouth. As I got older I rationalized that it wouldn't matter anyway, as I was asleep already. And as an adult I now actually need sleeping pills to help me sleep.
