I used to believe that more hair grew out of the tips of your hair, not your head. i found out when i was 13 that it doesn't. my friend who told me still teases me about it.
When I was young, my mom always told me when she would brush my hair at night that she was brushing out the knots. When I asked her what the "knots" were, she told me this story about the "knots" being little monsters that sneak into little girls' hair at night, and unless they got brushed out at least once a day, they'd take over my head and I'd have knotty hair forever.
I used to think that "extra body" shampoo meant you could use the runoff suds to clean your body.
when i was in kindergarten i used to think that you could only have short hair to have bangs. when i saw a girl with long hair and bangs i was shocked!
when i was little i used to believe that if you washed your cream rinse (conditioner) out in cold water your hair would get stronger so i would tand in the shower in the freezing cold and stick just my hair in it was completely crazy when i finally asked an older friendd if that was true i was sooooooo mad at the other friend that told me the lie i almost screamed
My friend convinced me that if I used a bar of soap to wash my hair instead of shampoo that I would go bald.
When i was in kindergarten i thought that growing your bangs out would make your bangs fall out. like when your bangs reached the length of the rest of your hair they would just fall out!
I used to think you could only wear curlers at night time when to bed. If you wore them in the day time they would not curl your hair!
I use to believe that when I lost hair that I had cancer
I used to chew on my hair when i was in preschool, untill my preschool teachers got together and told me a creative little story obout a little girl in the news who had a huge hair ball in her stomach from chewing her hair. Whenever I got a stomach ace I'd get scared and think I had a hair ball.
when I was small, I lived with my grandparents and cousins. I often wondered how my grandpa became bald, and when I asked him he told me that it all just fell out in a heap one day, and explained that this happens to all males. I utterly belived him and until i was about 12, I followed my oldest cousin ray around with a camera, hoping to get a picture of that moment since he always picked on me.
I used to think the 'round the bowl' haircut was the only haircut that suited me. Of course then I grew up and saw photos of myself and knew I was wrong!
I used to believe that clipping your bangs back in a barrette signaled the bangs to grow very long. I didn't understand that putting them back just allowed you to grow them long without having them in your eyes.
My mom had always plucked her eyebrows, so she had none left, like three hairs on each side. So when i was little i asked her why she didnt have any eyebrows and she told me it was because she wasn't there when they were handing them out. I believed her for ages, that there was some giant room with a massive queue and my mom got there after they closed. Then i figured out that i have eyebrows and i never queued for them...
when i was 9 yrs old i started getting hair sown there. and i thougt it was a spider that wouldnt come off so i shaved it.
I used to believe that my reflection in the mirror was my evil twin that always had bad hair. XD
i used to constantly chew on my hair untill one day my parents told me that it will get wrapped around a taste bud (i know that happens) but after i thanked them because i had an epiphany that all along while i was chewing my hair strands were coming off in my mouth and had began to form a HUGE ball in my stomach that was making me sick! later on in life i realized that it was just the flu
when my daughter was much younger she used to beleive there was nothing but hair in her head
When I was 6 years old. I used to believe that if you let your hair grow out long that it would cover your whole body like a chimp. I don't know why I believed it, but it did make be think that big foot was just some guy who never cut his hair.
Being the weird child I was, I used to eat my arm hair. (I know, pretty gross right?) Anyway, either my mom or my brother told me that if I kept doing that, it would start to grow in my stomach and become a tree...not really sure what their logic was behind that, but seeing as how I didn't really want to be torn apart by a tree inside my stomach, I stopped.
