When I was 8, my best friend's mom died. Two years later, my guinea pig, Cuddles, also died. The next night, my mom took me outside and told me that whenever someone dies, they become a star. She asked me which star was Cuddles and I pointed to one and said "That one." She looked closer and asked "Which one?" I was pointing to two stars next to each other and I said "That one. Right next to Brenna's mommy."

When I was three, I had a dog named Penny. She died of cancer and, since I was so young, my mother didn't have the heart to tell me. So she said that Penny went to live in a place where there were lots of other dogs and people to take care of them. I asked her if we could go visit Penny and she said maybe someday.

Years later, when I was 14, I was sitting in the car at the gas station while my mom filled up the tank when suddenly, Penny came to my mind. I thjought about why we had never gone to visit her when I was younger and only at that moment did I realize that she was dead. I cried for hours.

When I was really young my brother told me to quickly run inside if I ever saw a vulture because it would swoop down and feed me to its young if it saw me.

When i was younger (2 or 3) i had a fish called FiFi, he was my first pet and eventually we got him a brother who angrily took a bite out of FiFi! I was very angry and was so upset if i had a younger brother he would do the same to me! Anyway FiFi died from his horrific injury but being so naive my mum told me a man had taken him away whilst we were on holiday and that he was in the caribbean i only found out JUST THIS MINUTE that this story was infact untrue!

When i was about four or five i saw a rabbit sitting on a roundabout in the city. I belived up until my early teens that when rabbits went down burrows, they came to roundabouts which acted as saftey islands set up by the council so foxes couldn't eat them.
Whenever i saw a dead rabbit i told my dad to rite to the council. He never knew why

I remember wondering what happened to bugs when they died, i was afraid that they went to heven because i could only immagine how many bugs will have died when I get up there, i pictures heven for years as this big kingdom in the sky absolutley coated in bugs.

When I was wee I went to horse rining. Once when we were coming back from Donegal, we stopped in a resteraunt. That was when my mum made a big mistake, she said "I could eat a horse". I was horrified and told the waiter that my mum was a 'horse murderer' and made sure my dad took me to horse riding.

This went on for a couple of month untill it stopped becoming a joke for my parents.

When I was about 3, a stray dog had a litter of pups in our garage. We had a small hill right behind our house and as the puppies got older, they would run all over the yard including the hill. Then one day my mom said, "One of the puppies didn't make it." I thought she meant it didn't make it up the hill. I believed this until I was 10 years old.

When I was 4 or 5 we had a pet dog "Tilly" that was hit by a car. My dad didn't have the heart to tell me, so he told me the dog was at the vetenary clinic getting a robotic leg. So I'd ask regularly how Tilly was doing, and they said it was a new procedure so it was taking longer, but she'll be back soon.

This continued for years, until my dad finally gave up and told me "Bruce, the dog died 3 years ago."
