my older sister told me that if you accidentally swallowed chewing gum it wandered around inside you and could get tangled all round your ribs and suffocate you. I still don't chew gum!

When I was a kid, my grandmother told me that if I swallowed gum it would stick to my insides. From this I got the impression that my abdomen was hollow, sort of like the Tin Man's torso, and that when I swallowed gum it would stick to the inner walls, leaving them blotched like a gum-covered sidewalk. (And no, I don't remember what I thought happened to the food I ate.)

I thought that if you fell asleep with gum in your mouth you would die so you had to stick it to your head board or whatever for the next day. And if you did that it would taste even better too.

When i was wee my brother told me if i swallowed chuggy, when i went to the toilet i would blow a big bubble out of my bum float out over the neighbourhood and all my fiends would laugh - believe i did not laugh!!! Bearing in mind that my brother also made drink his urine mixed with "no more tears" shampoo, i sometimes wonder what he is doing today!!

OK!!! so when I swallowed my 1st peice of gum i was TERRIFIED because I thought it would come out the same way it was when i swallowed it like gushy and crap! i was scared. So then I thought that whenever you swallowed a peice of gum u would poop it out and it would be all gushy and chewed on. It was pretty nasty but then I asked my sister about it and she said no it stays in ur stomach for 7 years then I started to believe that.
NOW i dont know what 2 believe in anymore.

i was sitting in my P.E lesson and a girl started getting told off for chewing gum. immediately i realised that i was chewing gum too, and as i didnt want to get told off, i decided to swallow my gum. my friend then turned to me and said: "dont swallow your chewing gum, it will rap around your heart." to this day, whenever i think about that i laugh.

My sister always pronounced - and spelled - chewing gum that way: jewing gum. She obviously thought it was a Jewish invention. Well, maybe it is???

I used to believe that if you swallowed chewing gum it would stay in your stomach for 7 years, because chewing gum is impossible to digest. I still don't know whether or not this is ture.
