When i was five, i used to think that if you blew a bubble (from gum) and it got stuck on your face then you would have the gum one your face forever more.
When I was a little girl, my soon-to-be stepmother would tell me that if I swallowed my gum, a big gum tree would grow in my belly and it would take 7 years to come out.
I blowed a lot of gum . So my mom told to stop it but i went on,then she told me it will eat my whole face. i never blowed it until i was 11
There was a popular rumor back in grade school that BUBBLE YUM gum was made with spider eggs.
My friends and I all believed that chewing gum took seven years to digest if you swallowed it. For some reason, one of our number thought this was a bad thing and we were all disgusting. The rest of us calculated when we could celebrate that the gum was finally all digested, which, for me, will be when I'm 19. Only a year to go.
My girlfriend believed someone who told her that chewing gum was made from dogs bones!
I am a big fan of chewing gum!!!when I was 4 or 5 I used to think that we can grow & plant chewing gum so I took 2 pieces & dig a small hole in the garden & buried them & used to water my future chewing gum tree everyday till I gave up & told myself it's much better & easier to buy chewing gum than to try to grow it :-) ?!!
I used to belive that if you ate buble gum you would get zits my brother told me that. i belived that for 3 years.
I used to believe that if I swallowed gum I would bubbles when I 'trumped'.
My father hated chewing gum so he told me that chewing gum was made of cat's gut. I had always assumed that it was tru and didn't realize that it wasn't until I was in my 20's (and I still can't chew gum)
Up until I was about 8 or 9, for some reason I didn't like to spit out my gum, I had this thing for swallowing it. One day while I was sitting at the doctor's office with my mom, I started to figure out what happens with the gum when I swallowed it. Then I had this mental picture of my throat...there was a floor-like board that would cut off my throat from the rest of my body and it almost looked like a dark, poorly-lit room. I thought that whenever I swallowed my gum, it would land on that floor, and just accumulate. I pictured multi-colored, chewed bubblegum just piling up, and I stopped swallowing my gum after that because I thought that if I didn't stop, it would just build up until I couldn't swallow anything anymore, and then eventually, I would have chewed bubblegum coming out of my mouth. I guess I figured that because food at some point dissolves in your mouth, food passes but since gum could potentially be chewed forever, it would never dissolve and would just sit there until there was no more room. Needless to say, it was a very productive doctor's visit.
When I was two years old, I ate chewing gum thinking that it was candy. When I was six, I was told that if you swallowed chewing gum, it would stay in your stomach for seven years. I actually believed that!
My older sister used to trick us a lot. One day she told us she could turn paper into chewing gum. She gave me a little piece of paper to chew. Every now and then, she'd check to see if it was ready, and add a bit of gum to it, till it was mostly all gum. I swallowed it whole. Not the gum, the trick!
I used to beleive when i was really little, before i could blow bubbles with bubblegum, that only adults could blow bubbles. I thought that they had a special thing in their mouth that blew air into the gum and shaped it into a bubble!
I was told as a kid that if you kept stuffing a Big Buddies (bubble gum)I would get lock jaw.
When I was little my mum told me if I swollowed chewing gum it would stick to my puddings,I always imagined steak and kidny puddings inside me.
I used to think that Chewing Gum grew under the tables and chairs at the Pub where my Mum worked. I can remeber picking massive wads of it and eating it along with my friend. Never swallowed it though because my mother told me that it would stick my heart to my chest so it couldnt beat. Never asked me where I got the Gum from though................
When I was little, my dad told me that my uncle could make gum come out of his ear. I believed him because I "knew" that people could make water come out their ears, so why not gum? He even had this big story about how one time it got stuck and he had to go to the doctor. The sad part is I found out he was lying when I was about 11 or 12.
My sister told me that when I swallowed Bubble Gum, it stayed in my stomach forever. She said that I had a bubble gum gum tree inside of me, and it grew with every piece I swallowed.
My nan believes that if you swallow chewing gum, it will stay in your stomach for 7 years. Some of my friends also believe that it just sticks to the inside of your stomach and never comes out! o_O
