My mother used to tell me that if I went to a resturant, I'd better eat the crust because I was in public and If I didn't everyone in the returant would stare and think that there was something wrong with me.
My mom had me believing that, like fruits and vegetables, the crusts of bread were the healthiest part.
When I was little, my Dad used to tell me that if you left the crusts of pizza in the box and put it in the trash (in our garage) that the pizza would grow back. I remember hiding the pizza box in the garage just waiting for new pizza to grow onto the old crusts!
I used to think that the heal of the bread had no crust on it. This lasted until about age 5, but i managed to convince my younger brother of it also, and he believed it long after i realised the truth.
When my brother was young I told him if he ate the hole around the doughnut he would die.
To this day, he's 34 now, he leaves a small round crust so that he doesn't eat the hole =)
When I was about 12 years old my friend's mum told me that if I ate bread crusts my breasts would grow bigger. It didn't work, and so I still don't eat them.
My mun told me that if I ate my breadcrusts I would be able to whistle.
We were told that the bread crust is more healthy than the centre.
