I was told as a child if you swallowed any pips, no matter if it was on purpose or by accident, the pip will grow in your stomach and a tree of that particular fruit pop through the top of your head...scared me for years! Never thought to ask how..!?

when i was a kid, i was fun of eating fruits which has seeds...
but i was very cautious not to ingest the seeds, no matter how small it is because I USED TO BELIEVE it'll grow in our tummy anytime we ingest it... and i couldn't imagine how i will manage a plant or tree growing inside of me....

my dad once wanted to grow an orange tree.
so he ate an orange, swallowed the seeds, swallowed a handful of dirt, drank a glass of water and stood in the yard for a couple of hours with his mouth wide open pointing towards the sun.

I used to believe that if people swallowed orange seeds, they would grow in their stomachs and very soon branches would come out of their ears. It happened that one day I accidently swallowed one. I remembered running to my Mom and asking her to take me to a doctor. At that time she told me that we should wait until the branches were visible and then she would hire a gardener to tend me! So I waited patiently for weeks. After some time,I decided that the orange seed I accidently swallowed was a bad seed.

As a child I used to think that if you swallowed seeds from any kind of fruit or vegetable, a plant would begin to grow from your stomach and grow so big that it would soon kill you. This resulted in many painstaking hours sifting through meals to remove anything that resembled a seed.

when i was little, my mom told me not to eat apple seed because they would grow into a tree. I thought it would come out of your ears! One day on the bus one of my friends eat a whole apple. All of it. When I got to school, I told the teacher so she could get it out of him.

dang when i was about 7 or 8 maybe my mom used to give me watermelon and she used to say don't eat the seed because if you do its going to get stuck in your tummy and your going to grow a tree in there...im 16 and i still believe it :D

When I was young I remember my parents telling me (and I am assuming all parents told their kids) that if I swollowed the seeds from a watermelon, I would have vines growing from my ears and nose! I tried very hard not to and when I would swallow one, my eyes would get huge and I would start freaking out!
