After getting over the belief that swallowing seeds would cause trees (or plants) to grow in my tummy, I latched onto the belief that it was impossible to grow anything in your body..... until I met Steph. When she was a toddler, she stuffed a bean up her nose. It wasn't too unpleasant at first, so no one noticed. After a couple of days, it began to stink and to affect her breathing. When it was removed at the hospital, the bean had actually begun to germinate.... so I was wrong again!

i used to believe that if you swallow a seed, it'll grow inside your body and up through your head. then you'll be walking around with a tree on top of your head. that's why people don't swallow seeds.

I always believed that whenever i swallowed apple seeds by mistake, a tree will grow in my stomach. I was stuck with my belief till i took the science lesson related to stomach acids:)

dang when i was about 7 or 8 maybe my mom used to give me watermelon and she used to say don't eat the seed because if you do its going to get stuck in your tummy and your going to grow a tree in there...im 16 and i still believe it :D

When eating oranges, sometimes I would accidentally swallow a pip - then I would be terrified that an orange tree was going to grow inside of me - and leafy branches would soon start to come out of my ears, mouth and eyes.

When I was a little one, my freinds used to say that if I swallow seeds of fruits, it will grow into a plant and then a tree, and come out bursting my skull. Even now if I swallow seeds accidentally, I think of it.

My Grandfather always told me if I swallowed a "seed"- For instance a cherry seed; then a cherry tree would grow in my stomach. I guess this was his clever attempt to stop me from swallowing such things we aren't supposed to.
