When I was 4 and my cousin was 8, I was counting how many years I had to grow to get older. Then I thought, next year I will be 5 and then 6 and then 4 years later I will be 8! And I will be the same age as my cousin! My mom had to explain many times to me that as I grew older, other people (including my cousin), would get older as well.

I used to believed that the canes that old people used were just any old sticks. One day I wanted to play with my great-aunt's walking cane so I got a large piece of fire wood and replaced it with her walking stick. The fire wood looked a lot more sturdy than the flimsy cane, I didn't understand why I got in trouble for it if I was doing her a favor.

When I was a kid I was told so much crap by adults around me that I thought all adults must be crazy. The stories sounded just crazy to me and I thought that as I got older I'd get just like them. Every time I'd do or say something wrong my sisters would call me crazy and I though it was a sign that I was growing up and becoming an adult because the word adult sounds so much like "A DOLT"

My Grandmother used to tell us whacky made up stories all the time. One time when i was a kid she told me she was young and beautiful because she had gotten a face lift. I believed her all my life until five years ago that i brought up the subject and my mother told me it wasnt true.

When I was in my late teens, there was a magazine called 'Over 21' and I honestly thought that the newsagent would not sell it to me, bearing in mind this was in the 70s and the age of majority was 21. I bought the mag a couple of days after my 21st birthday and felt very grown up.

My parents grew up in the Third World nation and my mother and my father's height was only 5' 2". I used to think that if my parents would apply for a job, watch R movies, purchase alcohol, drive, or anything that is for grown-ups, people would might say that they're still a child or they're not adults yet. Because most of the people that I see in America were at an average stature from 5'7 to 5'11. In my view, my parents were like teenagers because of their height.

i used to think when you were 1 you were in 1st grade, 2 2nd grade etc. i also thought that when u were 1 you were 1 foot tall and so one and i wondered why i never saw any 40 foot people

When I was little I saw my nanny take out her dentures. I asked her how do you do that? And she grinned and told me, u'll be able to when u get older honey. then my twin sister came in the bathroom and looked at our nanny. Then we both started to try and take out our teeth!

When I was around 3 or 4, In Day Care, there was a boy who was the same as me who I had a 'crush' on. I really liked him and missed him when I stopped going to that Day Care. Then a few years later, I told my mom that I missed him and that he was probably a grown-up now
