i believed that if i jumped down the stairs with an umbrella i would float around like marry poppins. i disproved this by learning it the hard way.
when i was younger my brother told me that if i left my old shoes on the front porch an ostrich would come by and replace them with a new pair
When I was little I though somewhere in the playground was a gate way into different 'magic lands' and that you had to preform a ritual to get in there. I still remember going to mermaid land and playing all by myself in the playground talking to myself and imaginary people, I didn't know why everyone stopped playing with me all of a sudden........
I used to believe that if I closed one eye, the people on that side couldn't see me.
When I was about 4 years old, I used to believe that if Buzz Light Year could fly, so could I. One day I decided to try it and.... well I tried to "fly" from a table to my bed and broke my nose.
I can remember blowing out birthday candles always wishing to be able to fly like Superman. One day I believed it might be possible to fly by picking myself up by the neck. So there me and and my little buddies were, on the play ground, looking like we were choking ourselves to any oblivious onlookers.
when I was a kid, I used to think I have super powers but I haven't figured out what it is yet. so everyday I check if I have telekinesis or If I have super strength. I still do that for fun sometimes, staring at a jar hoping I could move it around.
When I was little I used to watch "Seasame Street" all the time and one of the episodes Burt and Ernie are fishing. Burt is not catching anything oso ernie goes "Here Fishie fishie!" and a fish jumps in the boat. well I was out fishing with my dad and we were not catching any thing, so I do this and suddenly we are getting bites!!! to this day my dad will ask me to call the fishies in at random times.... I AM 26!!! .... still works though! lol
When I was a kid, I used to think that I could levitate. I have actual memories in which I'm hovering over my playground at kindergarten, pitying all the non-magically talented children.
I used to believe that I could float like magicians do on tv and that if I was walking and started to float I could glide around places.
Back when I was a little kid, I thought that if I poured a "potion" (that was really mud and other random things found in the yard) on the deck in the backyard, it would transform into an airplane and I could fly to the North Pole where I would meet Santa. I attempted this multiple times, needless to say I was very disappointed.
I used to believe that if I was very still and very quiet, that I would turn invisible. I was sorely disappointed to find out that it didn't work.
I used to believe that when you made a wish on a dandelion it had to reach heaven to come true so i'd chase all the pieces around my garden blowing them into the air.
At the age of 4 and a half, I was convinced that I could teach myself to fly. I developed a training program that involved a step ladder, all of the pillows in the house, and counting aloud. I systematically lined the living room floor with pillows, climbed the ladder, and jumped, counting the Mississippis before I landed on the softened floor. Each jump, I strained to stay in the air a little longer by means of elaborate arm waving.
The first time my family bought a car with power windows my dad told me if I clap the windows will roll down or back up: magic windows!
I used to believe that magic was real, and was worried that, one day, a witch or wizard would accidentally summon a horde of zombies out of a graveyard.
I used to believe that if you laid down on the ground, closed your eyes and tried REALLY hard, you could turn into or go anywhere you wanted, even made up places. The power of the human mind is staggering, so every time we tried doing it, we felt like something was actually happening.
When I was little my Nanna told me that she was making up a potion so we could live in my dollhouse together. We'd even save teh toothpicks from sandwiches to poke the cats in the feet in case they tried to eat us. I alwasy wondered what was taking her so long to come up with the potion, and was really upset when I realized there was none.
When I was maybe 7 years old, I believed that people are only around when I'm around..In other words, everyone suddenly miraculously appeared just for me.
I also believed as I was riding in the car with my dad that I could point at people passing on the street and flip at them with my finger, and they would die or disappear.
When I was like, four or something, I saw this magician who, I COULD SWEAR, made a paper airplane and it morphed into a dove WHILE IT WAS FLYING! This was NOT ON TV!!! THIS WAS LIVE IN FRONT OF A WHOLE BUNCH OF THREE-TO-FIVE-YEAR-OLDS! How he did this, I don't know. Has anyone else seen this?
