i thought that diseases and bugs were the result of witches coming through the windows of little kids at night and stealing away their "good life" and when it hit autumn the leaves on the tree outside my bedroom window fell off and it was just sticks. i used to frighten myself stupid when it was a bright moon night...the way the branches were assembled looked like two very very scary witch hands on my bedroom wall lol...im 12 now and they still do look like scary hands but im not scared of it anymore.

there was a creepy old polish woman who used to live two houses down from me when i was little.
me and my next door neighbour believed she was a witch and you had to hold your breath as you walked past because if you breathed the same air as she had then you would die.

After seeing the film 'hocus pocus' when I was little, I was terrified of the fact a witch might try and suck the breath/life out of me when I was trying to get to sleep so whenever I felt scared I always held my breath so they couldn't

I used to believe that a witch flew around the neighbourhood at night and peeked through the small gap at the top of the curtains into little boys and girls bedrooms with one big red eye. The only way to stop her from getting you was to have every part of your body covered by blankets except for your head, which of course, was so that you could see the witch when she looked in.

After watching the Wizard of Oz, I thought that all witches melted on contact with water. Then later I saw a Donald Duck cartoon where he dumped a water bucket on a witch as a prank, and she came out solid and perfectly fine! I guess I still have some studying to do, eh? ^_^'

When I was eleven I watched the movie Kiki's Delivery Service and I became convinced that I could learn how to fly a broom. I didn't want my mom to see me trying and ridicule me so when she wasn't looking I would go look for the broom and attempt to fly on it. It never worked and I even tried looking on the Internet for instructions on how to fly a broom (and failed). After a while it became harder to find the broom and attempt to fly on it without my mom or dad seeing so I gave up. A tiny part of me probably still carries that belief but I just don't have the time to try it anymore.

When I was in junior high school (about 9 years ago) I believed that I could do magic. I thought that I could create my own sort of "witchcraft" using all kinds of weird things and mixing them together and putting together foolish rituals. I even believed that because of me the boy I liked broke up with his girlfriend because of my "spell". How foolish.

I was taking a walk in the park with my grumpy great-grandmother. She wanted me to sit still so that she can talk to her friends so she sat me down on a bench and pointed at one of the big buildings that toward over the park in the distance and said, "There is a witch up on that building and if you don't sit still, it will eat you." I must have sat there for a good hour and a half without taking my eyes off the witch whom - I was extremely convinced - was moving about.

I used to beleive that when I turned a certian age, my parents would tell me that I was really a very powerful witch. as I started hitting the age I thought my powers would be revealed, I figured it would just happen at some other landmark birthday. I'm now 13, and nothing yet has happened. maybe when I turn 16 ;)

When I was a kid I believed that a scary witch lived in the hallway wardrobe, outside the bedroom... Her name was 'Hufsa' and was a mean and ugly old witch that kidnapped and maybe ate kids!!!
Me and my brother shared a bedroom, and sleeped in bunkbeds. Since he was 4 years older than me he had the top one. I began sleeping with the duvet over my head, so that she wouldn't come in and take me..
And who told me about 'Hufsa'? Yes, my brother that's who... *lol* He said that she would come and take me, not him - 'cause she was so small she couldn't reach the top bunk!
At night when the lights were out, I could easily imagine there was something strange hiding amongst the coates in the wardrobe.... and strange noises and breathing I could hear... (my brother perhaps?)
Ofcourse I don't believe in 'Hufsa' anymore.., but I still have a bad habit of sleeping with the duvet over my head sometimes! *smile*

When I was little, we lived in a house with yellow carpet in the hallway. After watching the Wizard of Oz, I got it into my head that if I stepped on the yellow carpet, the Wicked Witch of the West would fly out of the dark bathroom at the end of the hall and kidnap me. That's when I began jumping across the hall into my room without touching the carpet in order to to avoid the Witch.

Almost my whole childhood, i was convinced that my family and I were witches and i would be told when i turned a certain age. First it was 7, than 10, than 13 after i kept reaching those ages and not hearing anything about said witchness.

Me and my friends(we were nine) from school use to believe we were witches. And we watched charmed so that gave us ideas. In school there would be little pavement circles, and we use to sit in them, hold hands and say "Let the power of three, set us free."
Now that we are older when ever we end up talking about it we alwayz end up laughing so much that we end up in tears.
