I used to belive that the sitcoms i watched on tv were the housed of people in my nieghborhood. And that the audience laughing in the background were other neighbors watching the same people i was. Then i got scared when i realized that somone might be watching me.

At the beginning of every movie at this one theater when I was a kid, they showed a short film featuring a local radio celebrity asking us to be quiet and let everyone enjoy the show. He also said at the end that if we can find him after the show he'd give us a shiny new dime. I eventually figured out that he really wasn't really in there, unless he was a big fan of 'The Rescuers.' But until then, I would always sneak a peek over my shoulder to see if Larry Lujack was sitting in the back row, all by himself.

I used to think that everytime I watched a funny show that the crowd in the background laughing were other people in their livingrooms watching the same thing so i would laugh loud for my friends to hear me.

As a kid I believed that just like we saw the actors in the movies they were watching us. So, some of my unnecessary actions like a sudden smile or a karate pose or a whistle at a small girl could be understood now..

when i was smaller i thought that the whole was watching me.i used to avoid all the windows in my house because i thought there were people looking through them all the time, watching me.so i used go around the house by ducking as i went past a window.and sometimes when i was feeling extra paranoid i would hide in my closet.

I thought that there were microphones in TV's and when you would hear people laughing during sitcoms, it was other people who were watching the show. I would yell into the TV and try to get the other people to hear me.

When I was a kid, we had some large photos of relatives who had died. I felt like their eyes were following me around the room and watching everything I did. Everytime I was alone in the house, I would turn the pictures to the wall. Mom turned them back but never asked me why. Still today, photos with eyes that seem to follow you give me the creeps.

I thought my posters, and pinups all had tiny cameras attached to the eyes, and that it relayed those videos back to the person in the picture. Because of this, it was only by the age of 13 or so that I could actually change clothes in my bedroom without thinking that someone was watching me.

A few years ago, i used to believe that if you had posters on your bedroom wall, the people on the posters where watching you and there where cameras in their eyes. Some times i still feel as if thats true.

When I was little, I believed that, on Earth, we were living in some type of experimental world...like we were traped in a cage and being observed by someone-possibly aliens. I tried to figure out what E.A.R.T.H. stood for as if it was the name of some big top secret experiment. I thought that there were cameras EVERWHERE! I thought they were behind every mirror, in the ceiling, in closets, behind chalkboards, in street lamps and traffic lights, in trees, by windows, in cars, in pictures, in clocks, in floors and sidewalks....even in bathrooms! I was horrified at the thought! I was always trying to hide from the cameras.

For the longest time, I believed that some people I knew had cameras in every mirror. My closet door has a huge mirror. For the longest time I changed in my sister's room so they couldn't see me naked.

Around age five I started to think about why it was we watched little people on the t.v., so finally just to clear things up I had to ask if we were being watched some where on someone's t.v., always freaked me out when going to the bathroom to think I was on someones television.

When I was younger, I believed that there were people with video camera hiding in places and filming everything they saw, and that was what TV and movies were. I also thought that cartoons were real, and wondered how they got their eyes to bug out so far!
