When I listened to the radio in the car with my mom, I thought every song was sang live. I asked my mom "How do they get all those bands in there to sing a new song every few minutes?" She then explained recorded music to me.

I used to believe that the songs on the radio were being performed live at the radio station at the time I was hearing them. (But not by small people inside the radio as I've heard others believed.) I finally got the hang of it when I saw a band playing on a TV show while the song was on the radio at the same time and I asked my big sister about it.

When I was 11 years old listening to my favorite radio station, on a transistor radio. I thought that the artists were at the radio station singing on stage.

When I got my first radio, I thought that my favorite band(s) were playing into the microphone at our local radio station....so every song was live!

I used to believe that when you called the radio station and requested a song, that they had to get the people that sang the song to come to the station and sing it.

I used to think that each music group was squeezed into the radio tower with their instruments and sang each song live every time we heard it on the radio.

That every time you heard a song on the radio, the band was in the studio playing it live. I couldn't figure out how they got to the all the radio stations so fast!

I used to believe that when you heard a song on the radio, the singer or group was AT the radio station, right then, performing the song "live". After their song was over, they had to hurry up and get out of the way so the next singer or group could sing their song. During the commercials they all took a break!

As a kid, every time a song was played on the radio I thought that the band were playing live in the studio. So I thought'when I grow up I'm going to wait outside the radio station and see them all.'

I used to think that the records played on the top 40 station were actually the bands playing live, over ad over again, even though I knew about 45s and had my own Beatles records. I just had this image of the band waiting expectantly in the studio, waiting for someone to give the signal after a commercial so they could start playing again. (I never figured out how the band could be in so many radio stations at once).

I used to believe that the music on the radio was being played by live musicians in the studio. I was very confused when I passed an actual radio station and saw how small it was, and wondered how all those bands could fit inside.

I used to believe that the music I heard on the radio was always live, so I didn't understand how bands could travel from one radio station to another in a matter of seconds.

When I was about five, I used to think that music on radio came from bands who were actually in the studio for every song. I wondered how the Village People could get from one studio to the next so quickly.

I used to believe that when you heard a song on the radio, that artist had to come in and perform it. It never occured to me that people might be playing tapes like we had at home. When I heard the same musician on more than one station, it astounded me how fast they could make it from one station to the next!

I thought that the music on the radio was being played live at the radio station and bands were constantly stopping by to play their music.
