I used to watch the Hanna Barbara cartoon of Laurel and Hardy, and could never for the life of me understand why they called each other "Stan" and "Ollie" when their names were Laurel and Hardy, like the title said! Hah!

For many many years, my father had my brother and myself convinced that "Kemo-sabe" really meant "bat-shit". The story was they had used the term on the old Lone Ranger radio shows, without knowing what it really meant. By the time the series was on TV, it was too late to change it. So, for years, we believed this.

Flash forward 20+ years later. A friend from the office and I were heading downtown, and he started relating the same story from HIS father. I'm from Chiacgo, he was from Pittsburgh, and there was no way our fathers could have ever met. I was laughing so hard I almost lost control of the car....

I used to love the TV show 'The Time Tunnel' but i was upset that the heroes were called Douglas and Tony. These were my brothers names, so why didn't they have a character named after me :(

I used to believe my mom was Roseanne. She doesn't even really look like Roseanne, but we always watched it and they were both chubby with brown hair, so it just made sense to me. I also used to believe that ratings on movies (such as "R" or "G") referred to where they were made. I can't imagine why.

When I was little, I always thought that the actors/actress's on TV had to act all over again if it was a rerun.

When I was four I wanted to watch some Saturday morning cartoon but basketball was on instead. I was so mad that I sent a letter to the TV station to complain. To make it sound more official, I signed the letter,
"Love, The King"

I thought that Big Bird's gender was unidentifiable. I just assumed that Big Bird was both male and female. That's why I was disgusted by "hirm"*.

*hirm - pronoun used to refer to an individual who is both male and female. Contraction of "him" and "her".

I used to (and still) watch Cops. I always thought they were filming it Live and wondered how did the know how to bleep out bad language and censor there faces. I had the same question for the Jerry Springer Show too...

On a 'Batman' episode, Catwoman fell off a ledge in a cave or something and Batman held Robin back, saying "Watch it, Robin! It's a bottomless pit!" I had never heard that phrase before, so I thought he said, "It's a bottom of spit!" I was picturing a pool of saliva at the bottom of the hole.

I always used to believe that the bodysnatchers could come out of your cupboard and take you away. I'd always sleep watching the cupboard, so that I'd spot them coming. That is, until one day I saw an episode of "Ghostbusters" where they managed to trap the boogeymen so they couldn't steal anymore children. I slept well after that...

When I was really little I used to believe if you broke the screen of the TV the characters would come out and you could talk to them and hang around them so every time Barney(which was my favorite tv show) came on i would ask my mom for the hammer and she asked why and i said i want to break the tv to play with barney

When I was really young, I used to watch an afternoon talk and entertainment show called "House Party." I thought when we turned on the TV, it made me a guest on the show and I used to dance around the room when the music played and use some of my mother's clothing as "costumes." I jumped around the room like a nut and I thought that the applause was for me. (How crazy was I???)

I'm not sure why, but I used to be absolutey terrified of Miss Piggy from The Muppet Show. None of the other characters bothered me, but whenever she appeared on screen I used to cack myself. My mum & dad used to find this very funny for some reason.
I was also convinced that Miss Piggy lived in our spare room and that she'd leap out from behind the door if all the lights were out.

I used to believe that every show was done after the introduction...(when the commercial came on right after). Everytime after the commercial, I'd clap and change the channel. All my friends would ask me if I saw friends last night, and I'd always reply, in a sacastic way "well they all sang the song and sat on the couch again. How could you like that show??" I liked the simpsons more, because part of the introduction changed everytime!!

When I was very little I used to watch the cosby show and I thought Cliff Hustable and Claire Hustable were actually married like in real life, and theo, vanessa and all them were his actual kids. When I found out Bill Cosby was married to someone else I was very confused. I thought he had two wives!
