When I was a kid I would sing " I know I'll never lie or steal again" but the correct lyrics were.. "I know I'll never love this way again".
Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger
"Oh, Harry can't mate
He knows it's too late
As he's stalking, oh my..."
Run DMC feat. Aerosmith - Walk This Way
"Balk this hay!"
"Christmas time
mistletoe and brine..."
Abba - Happy New Year
"Kangaroo year,
Kangaroo year..."
"It's Christmas time, there's no need to be afraid
At Christmas time, we let in fights and we banish gays
And in our world of plenty
We can spread exile of gays
Throw tomatoes at the world, at Christmas time!"
"Sex me up, before you go-go
Don't leave me hanging on like a ho-ho!"
When I first heard Lindsay Lohan's song "Over" from my CD, I thought the first line of the lyrics was 'I watched the world around me crumble' then my friend corrected me that is was 'I watched the walls around me crumble'
In that Frankie Goes to Hollywood song, 'Relax', I used to think that he sang...
Relax
Don't do it,
When you want to suck a Chewit
I only realised it wasn't this when I looked on a lyrics website the other day.
I used to believe that in Band Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas? song thay sung, "At Christmas time
there's no need to be afraid,
At Christmas time
We let in fights and we banish gays..."
I was horrified at this and refused to go outside at Christmas in case I got involved in a fight...
My ex yused to think "Poetry in Motion" was "Oh a tree in motion"
In Weird al's version of Bohemian Rhapsody where it really said "Mama, just killed a man.put a gun against his head, pulled the trigger now he's dead" was"Mama, just killed a man.Put a gun against his head, for my N*gger now is dead"I thought to myself"wow,he is racist. then i was put in line, and i sing the whole thing right now!and i am 10.
I used to think the lyrics to the song "Shout" (when I heard it sung by Edith Bowman on Celebrity Fame Academy, I have a copy of that) went
"I still remember when I used to be your nineties whore"
Instead of
"I still remember when you used to be nine years old"
I could not understand why a 15 year old would sing such a thing - especially seeing as the nineties had not happened when it was released!
Abbie
I'm a child of the 80's/90's and loved Roxette. I knew all of the words - or so I thought - and would sing along all the time.
I recently found out that "I'm gonna get dressed for simon says" is really "I'm gonna get dressed for success" That makes more sense since the song is called Dressed for Success...
When I first heard "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake, I totally misheard the lyrics. When he says, "'cos I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams." I thought he was saying, "'cause I know what it means to walk alone, the lord is free to greive." Listen to it, you might hear it too! I was like, whaaa?
This is the absolute funniest, I swear!
When I was younger (@5-20 years old) I thought the lyrice to Pink Floyds "The Wall" were "The Dukes of Hazzards in the classroom." I later realized from @ age 20 on that this didn't make sense and somehow reasoned that the real lyrics must be "The doctors have us in the classrooms." Since then I kept this new belief along with my funny tale of misheard lyrics which I submitted to this site 10 minutes ago. Well, about 8 minutes ago, I found out that my "corrected" version was wrong too. It's actually, "No dark sarcasm in the classroom." LOL!
I used to believe that In Pink Floyd's The Wall the lyrics were, "The Dukes of Hazard in the classroom." The actual lyrics are "The doctors have us in the classroom."
Ok, can you tell I was born in '74?!
When my son was young, probably 5 (Now 25 years old) He was singing Bommmmmmmb the USA. Instead of Born in the USA by Bruce Sprinsteen.
I used to believe that the song Sugar by Trick Daddy which really went "She put that sugar on my tongue Shes gonna Gimme gimme some
She put it right there on my tongue...." til my friend pointed out to me that i was singing it wrong, this is how i sang it:"..sugar on hot sauce, shes caught up, gimme gimme some of that sugar right there on my sauce..." well, i turned red as hot sauce when i found out that thats not actually what theyre saying...
in the song "purple haze," i used to believe that instead of saying "'scuse me while i kiss the sky," that he was actually saying "'scuse me while i kiss this guy."
