I thought the lead singer of Flogging Molly was a girl. I was wrong.

When I was 10 or so, in the mid-70s, a record company called K-Tel used to put out compilation albums of top-40 hits a couple of times a year. They used to advertise them heavily on TV - they would play little clips of some of the songs and name the singer: "Elton John! Hall & Oates! 10 cc! Helen Reddy!"... They always ended the list by saying "and Many more!"... For the longest time, I thought there was a VERY successful pop singer named "Manny Moore" who somehow ended up with a hit song on EACH K-Tel album released... I finally had to stand corrected when I asked my cousin Lucie if she had any good "Manny Moore" records I could borrow.... Took a while for me to live this down.

I used to think my great-grandpa Floyd was a member of Pink Floyd. Granted, he was about 90 at the time, but that didn’t stop me!

When I was little, I would occasionally hear my dad talking about Led Zeppelin. For years I believed Led Zeppelin was a person, not a band. Looks like I’m not the only one who believed that!

When I was 9 I thought my dad used to be one of the beatles, because he played their music all the time. Kind of sad when I found out he wasn't; one of my friends told me they live(d) in England, and I lived in Holland.

I used to think that Britany Spears was a robot because someone said her voice was done by computer. Then I saw her on "Extra" and "ET" and even on the news so I knew that I was wrong so i said to my sister "Britany Spears is a real person!" She looked at my like I was from another planet!

I remember the first time I witnessed seeing Michael Jackson was in his music video for Free Willy. And, he being Michael Jackson, I could not figure out whether it was a man or a woman singing. What with his long hair, tight pants and high nasal voice...
I was absolutely astounded when my sister told me he was a man. To tell you the truth, I would have been astounded if she told me he was a woman. He looked damn nasty either way!

Ever notice those clear, plastic 'walls' that are placed around drum sets?

Until the age of 12 I thought these were to protect the public from the drummer, should one of his drumsticks go flying.
