When I was little, I thought the Beatles really were bugs.

As a child, I thought that Olivia Newton-John was Elton John's wife and Juice Newton's sister.

When I was little I just knew there were five Beatles. My father had some Beatles records, some of John Lennon's and George Harrison's respective solo albums and, near them, some Bob Dylan records, so I figured he must be the fifth one.

I felt really sorry for Mariah Carey when I was little. I thought her face was actually a mask, and because her real face was ugly she wouldn't be allowed to be a pop star unless she wore her mask. Why I thought this I have no idea...

when i was little, i thought elvis had died because he'd eaten to much and had eventually burst.
that was one freaky mental image and it gave me nightmares for months!

there was this kid named bruce that lived across the street from me when i was little. my mom used to call him bruce springsteen. i honestly believed that bruce springsteen lived across the street from me, and that this kid was the one that sang Born in the USA. Even when i was a teenager i would tell people that i used to live across the street from bruce springsteen.

A very long time ago when Saturday Night Live was in its infancy, and I was just out of mine, Billy Joel did a guest spot. I can still remember him sitting at the piano, playing and singing -- and how proud I was that my Uncle Billy was on tv! At least until my mother pointed out that not every male with a beard named Billy was my Uncle Billy (to be fair, they did actually look somewhat alike). For years afterwards I still thought there was a chance that my Uncle Billy had a piano hidden somewhere in his house, and that everybody was lying to me because they were afraid I'd tell all my friends, and then they'd all want autographs.

When I was really little I'd only heard of Michael Jackson, never seen him. My parents were watching tv and there was one of his videos on, in which a mob break into an old spooky mansion and Michael Jackson was dancing there. I thought that M.J. was a girl and therefore this old man with glasses who was the head of the mob was Michael Jackson. I like my MJ better.

A few years ago I used to think No Doubt (Gwen Stefani) was a hip-hop band because the song "No Diggity, No Doubt" by blackstreet boys was hip-hop and I got confused with the words No Doubt thinking only "gangstas" and "thugs" used that phrase.

I thought up until I was about 14 that Prince and Micheal Jackson were the same person. You gotta admit they both look/act really weird.

I used to think that Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson weren't actaully related (well, they had completely different skin colours!)

I also used to think that there were 2 people called Michael Jackson, one who was black and about 13, and one who was white and about 30.

I used to think that Michael Jackson lived innthe house at the top of my road, because the house was bigger than ours and my perception of the world didnt extend beyond my area.

When I was about ten and Marcy Playground had his one hit wonder "Sex and Candy" I somehow connected it with the Sex Pistols I think because I saw their CD at the store and they both had the word "sex" in them. I was a fan of theirs for years before I ever heard one of their actual songs :).

For the longest time I got Michael Jackson and Elvis confused, I would therefore refer to them interchangeably.

I used to believe that Cliff Richards got his own name wrong - it should've been Richard Cliff, not the other way round.

i was about 5 years old when i believed that Micheal Jackson And Madonna were married because i kept hearing people say that HE was the king of pop and SHE was the queen of pop. I assumed that meant that they were married but wondered why i never really saw them togther or heard them talking about one another.
