Back in the fifth grade we used to drop money into the heater in the girls bathroom for 'The Michael Jackson Fund'. We believed that Michael Jackson came to the school at night to collect his money and whoever put in the most would be considered a super cool chick. I remember one girl dropped a five dollar bill in and the next day it was gone. That was proof enough! No wonder the janitors were always so happy and had jingly pockets...

How much plastic surgery did we pay for?

When I learned that Rick Allen, the drummer from Def Leppard, had only one arm I can remember thinking, "Well, at least he plays drums and not something like the guitar where you need two hands!" As a small kid growing up, I only really heard the snare drum and cymbals in music and I was convinced that you only needed one arm to play drums properly!

I used to believe that Janet Jackson had a couple of ribs removed so that she would look fit. It sounded insane, but now I know it is. I guess some people were playa hating on her six pack.

when i was little, my mom told me that if she hadnt married my step-dad, she would have married Phil Collins. I always thought she was seriously one of his "ex-lovers", and that they had had a serious relationship, untill i was about 12 and hse told me otherwise when i brought it up one day.

Up to about the age of 8 i never always thought Michael Jackson was a sort of monster and not a human. I don't think i ever asked anyone about this either. So he scared me for quite a while!!!

I was a little boy when Elvis Presley died. When the news cam out that he had died of a heart attack, I did not know what that was, so I though he had died of a "hard attack."

I pictured Elvis getting killed in a swordfight with a bunch of bad guys.

Well, I COULDN'T BELIEVE that the Beatles were from another country. It seemed so odd that another country existed. And then I found out that my favorite band did DRUGS! Didn't they have D.A.R.E. But I kept on listening and my world expanded

I think I must've been about 7 or 8 when my Mom told me that pop stars were regular people. To this day, I still laugh whenever I conjure up images of pop stars waking up in the morning saying, "hey, we need groceries!"

I used to believe that Brian May of Queen was the presenter of "Magpie" (he wasn't - it was lookey-likey Mick Robertson).

I also used to believe that the voice from inside the radio was a person actually in there and I remember trying to squint through the lit-up dial and see them. (It was a big radio, OK?!)

I have only found out last week from my boss in work that spinal tap was never a band it was a spoof film. So it just shows that at 36 years of age we can still be fooled with things " i used to believe " not just children..

I was born in 1960 and I believed my father was Elvis Presley (he was thin with black hair and he was cool), one day I heard Elvis on the radio and said "there you are" and after some explaining on what I meant, everyone laughed at me and my feelings were hurt but my dad is still cool.

When I was younger my dad told me that you had to like The Beatles to be an american (even though I knew they were not american). For a long time I thought it was the law to like The Beatles. I was even nicknamed (and I'm still called) Abbey- after the Abbey Road album!

My sister used to think that a line from the song "Say Say Say" by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson, was "Say, say say what you want, but don't play games with my erection(affection)"

I used to think that the posters on my wall were watching me at night. I used to hide under the covers and peep out to see if any of them had moved. I wish the Kylie one did
