I used to believe that there really was a man in the moon named Tigger and the stars were all his friends. I even used to smile and say goodnight to him through my window before I went to bed at night.

I thought that if I could ever travel into outer space, I would take a pair of pliers with me, to collect stars. Mommy did say they were too hot to touch.

When I was about 7 year old, I used to believe that stars were actually made of glass and could break if meteor hit them. Then one night I found a piece of clear plastic just behind my home door, and I was absolutely sure that I had just found a piece of a star...The piece was included to my "treasure chest" for a long time but I lost it at some point.

I used to believe that the stars were holes in the roof of the world, and the light shining through the holes was the light from heaven.

I thought there was a different moon in every country.

I use to believe that the sun and the moon were one object and just flipped around when day turned into night or night into day

Every night, to explain the darkness, I thought someone put the world in a box.

All the stars were air holes.

When we used to go out in the car at night i would look up at the moon and wonder why we never left it behind. I figured out that there was a man in the moon driving it and following us.
Now my mum had previously told me that the moon was made out of cheese, so i obviously came to the conclusion that he ate the cheese to stay alive which is why the moon has holes in it..........i still believe there is a man in the moon to this very day, i mean how else would you explain it?? ;)

From the ages of 5-13 I always thought that there was a door to the universe, because I just couldn't make sense of the fact that it was never ending. I thought there were loads of 'rooms' full of galaxies and planets.

My dad told me once that the moon was made of cheese. And that the man on the moon wouldn't let us have any cheese. It always made me wonder why earth wasn't made of cheese too, and why the moon just didn't melt. To tell you the sad truth... I believe that until I was in middle school.

I used to wonder that if man wanted to reach the stars in rockets, why didn't he just go up at night? Duh!!!

For a time as a child, I was totally convinced that I had been to a city on the planet Neptune. The clearest memory I had of the place was how at each end of the main street, atop a pole like a telephone pole, there was an array of horns, resembling loudspeakers like I'd seen at football stadiums. I wondered what those horns were for. I never heard any sound come from them.

When I was about 4 or 5 or so, on the way back home from school, I'd quite often stare at the sun for ages, because I thought it was a hole in the sky (if you really stare at it, it looks that way). I was a stupid child in some respects, and I wear glasses to this day - I'll probably always wonder if the two things are linked.

I knew Earth was round, but I thought that we lived inside the Earth. I was so confused at how the space shuttle could get though the sky. The day the shuttle took off I searched the sky for the hole that it must have left.

Once, I was laying on my driveway with my sister and friend at night just looking at the stars and I got a good idea. I told my sister that we were getting tans, and if you layed there long enough you could get really tan. She believed me, and I finally set her straight last year.

When I was young, I thought that the chirping sound that we always heard outside at night was the sound of the stars twinkling. Only later I found out it was really crickets chirping.

I used to believe that the light switch in my room controlled the sun, and when I turned out my light before going to bed, the sun would go out too.

I used to believe that the moon was a reflection of the earth and the darker spots were the different continents reflections.

I used to love to stare at the moon when I was younger. My mum told me if I point at the moon, my ear would drop off / be cut off.
I had visions of a moon man (obviously with a face like the moon) coming down and slicing off my ears with his moon knife.

I'm 22 now. I still won't point at the moon.
