When i was about 4 years old, i was really afraid of thunder. Around that time, my aunt had a poster of Tom Cruise in her bedroom and in order to shut me up, whenever there was a thunderstorm she used to show me the poster and tell me that the thunder was just the sounds Tom Cruise's farts.
My parents told me during thunderstorms that all the noise was Fred Flintstone bowling. It always made me feel better!
i believed that thunder and lightning came out of the alley across the street from my house.
When I was a kid, I used to believe that it would thunder when G-D was moving furniture in the sky.
I used to believe that the lightning would come thru my bedroom window and strike me in my bed...for years I silently wished my bed wasn't right under the darn window !!!! I also thought if I hid under the blankets the lightning wouldn't be able to find me.
when i was a child, i used to be terrified of thunder & lightening, so my mom would tell me that Mary was making homemade pasta & was dropping the rolling pin (thunder) & that jesus was taking pictures (lightening)... i would go right to slepp after that...
I used to be scared to death of thunder and lightening, I flat refused to go to bed if it was storming outside, so one day my dad told me not to be afraid of it because it was just mother nature burping and farting in the shower. I actually still think there is truth to that, lol
We lived in an area surrounded by farmland, mostly growing potatoes, and whenever it thundered, my dad would say, "They must be loading spuds in Tulelake!" That must have kept me calm when the loud roll of the thunder started.
i used 2 belive that when it was fireworks had been set off in volcanoes under the earth crust and that lightning was someone kept turning on the light on and off
I always thought that God was having a chariot race and when ever he clipped a rock it would spark and make lightning and the clouds would clap for him winning the race and that would be thunder but if they clapped too hard they would make holes in themselves which rain would pour out.
My mother always told me that thunder came from clouds colliding with each other.
As I was scared of thunder storms I was led to belive by my Mum that it was only God moving his furniture around. When it didn't stop he obviously hadn't made is mind up and was moving it again.
i used to believe (because my mum told me!) that when it thundered that god was angry and the thunder was him shouting at all the bad people.
One time wheen I was a kid, I farted so loudly that my mother said, "Gee, did I hear thunder?". It seems like years thereafter that I actually thought that thunder was caused by somebody somewhere farting very loudly!
I used to believe that wjem it thundered it was God's belly rumbling
i used to believe that thunder was when God was playing the drums and lightning was when he was throwing lightning bolts at naughty people.
i used to believe rain was when Jesus was having a shower
I used to believe that thunder was aliens entering the atmosphere, and lightning was them firing lazers at us!
i used to believe that whenever it would thunder then it would crack the earth and we would all die and get sucked underneath........ dont know why but i did, i used to lie in me bed praying not to thunder so many times cos then i thought our time would end.... talk about weird beliefs!!!!
I think thunder is the clouds fighting and bashing eachother and lightning is fire balls from the sun.
