I used to think that a large factory near our home was a cloud maker because of the steam that came out of it. I thought for a long time that some clouds were endangered so the people needed to help keep the number of clouds from going down. It wasn't until I was about 10 years old or so that I realized that it was just steam!

When I was younger I used to believe that the coke plant down the street from my house was a cloud maker because it used to spew out big clouds of smoke every day that looked like clouds. Turns out it was just pollution.

I used to believe the smoke stacks at the Pittsburgh steel plants were giant cloud makers. I would always point out if they were making clouds that day or not and my parents never corrected me.

When my boyfriend was about 5-6years old, on the way to school they would drive past two large inciniraters that were on the way. He believed those were the machines that created the clouds. Cute!

Until 9 years old my sister used to believe that power stations (power plants to you yanks) were machines to make clouds. She never understood, when told how a power station worked, why it was necessary to make all that electricity at the same time.

Near my city, Cleveland, there is a huge factory that creates massive ammounts of polution and smoke. It spews out of this large pipe outside of a building constantly. I always thought that was what made the clouds. I talked to my boyfriend about it and he thought the same thing when he was young.

When i was little my parents used to tell me that the factory chimneys that had all the smoke coming out of them were cloud-makers.

They said when the clouds are white, it makes the day nice but when the clouds are grey, it's going to rain and storm.

I was always a bit worried when there were grey clouds that it would rain too much, the world would fill up with water and we'd all drown.

As far as i know that hasn't happened yet.

I am a teen now. But when I was very young I believed the Hess stations (when the white smoke or fumes come out of it) were simply making clouds. I used to always stare at it in awe. To this day I don't know what that white puffy stuff coming out of it is. I sound foolish when I say so, but hey, nobody ever told me.
