When I first went to kindergarden we started learning about weather and i was crushed to learn that trees didn't make wind, I always thought this because whenever it was windy the trees were moving.

I grew up in the mountains of Pennsylvania and I used to believe that the trees would start waving and make it windy. . . the more they waved, the windier it got.

Up until very recently my girlfriend believed that "the trees make the wind". It came to light because I live on a lake and we were talking about how its frequently windy there; she was convinced it was because it was surrounded mostly by trees.

like many people, i used to believe that trees swaying was the cause of wind. so, naturally, i was very confused when i saw the prince of egypt in the desert seen where it is very windy. How could there be wind when there were no trees around? i took the question to my dad, who looked confused for a moment, laughed, then explained.

I used to believe trees made wind. I'd see them blowing around and think they were doing it by themselves to cool down the world.

When the wind blows, tree branches wave: that was pretty obvious. It was equally obvious that trees, therefore, cause the wind. That was considerably before TV and 24 hour weather reporting took the mystery out of weather phenoms.

I used to believe that it was the trees that made the wind blow. I thought the wind would take me away if i was outside when it was blowing. One day I became so tired with all the wind that I told my father that he had to cut all the trees down.

In agreement with an earlier post, I also thought that trees created the wind, and I used to beleive that it would never be windy where there were no trees around. I was soon to find out that I was wrong though!
