I thought the tip jar at the restaurant was so people could give the chef cooking tips for how to cook better.

When I learned about faxes, I thought you could fax whole objects. Like in Willy Wonka. Ex. Scan a chair, and fax the info, and a chair comes out where you sent the fax.
Ironically my parents were born on the same day; so growing up, I thought all parents had the same birthdays.
I wanted to grow up and become a marine biologist, which seemed to me the perfect combination of studying nature and shooting people.
