As a teacher, I sometimes have reason to call my the homes of my students. One evening, around 6:30pm I called to check on a student who had been out sick for a while. I told her that the class missed her and that we were looking forward to having her back. The next day, she came in and asked me where the phone was that I called her from. She peered around the room, apparently wondering where I hid it. It dawned on me that she thought I called her from the classroom and so I informed her that I called from home. She looked at me wide eyed and said, "You mean you don't live here?" Looking back, I remembered a time when I too believed my teachers lived in their classrooms!
I thought that the teacher's that were real old lived in the school because nobody wanted them. Well everybody was always saying "In With The New and Out With The Old" around me.
When I was about 6, I was convinced that all the teachers in my school lived in a very large, one room basement under the school, and that somewhere there was a big elevator they took to get to their basement after school when all the kids left. I then had my heart set on finding hte elevator and finally convinced myself it was in the janitors closet, and for at least 3 or 4 years would run past the door for fear that a mad teacher was going to jump out and grab me and no one would ever see me again.
When I was very young I used to believe that my teachers stayed at school all night, and slept under their desks.
When I was in 2nd grade I used to believe that teachers had to live at the school. I would always wonder where their bedrooms were in the school building.
When I was little, i thought that all of the teacher lived in the skool. I thought they slept in a storage rooms!
When I was in kindergarten I used to think that teachers slept at school on students desks. It's very weird but I believed it.
I used to believe that teachers live in the class room and sleep in there, eat in the room until they quite being a teacher.
I used to believe that teachers lived at school, and that all they ever did was make lessons and teach, even during the summer. At the time I was eight or so, and I used to feel really bad for my teacher, so every day before leaving for the bus to go home I would walk by her and say, "Sorry!"
I used to believe that teachers lived at school. They did not have personal lives and devoted their whole life to teaching little kids their abc's. I thought this was because nobody ever wanted to marry them. I got really confused when my 2nd grade teacher told the whole class she was engaged.
In grade 1,2 and 3 I used to think that teachers lived at school and never went anywhere else so imagine my surprise when I saw my teacher at the grocery store. Lol!
I used to believe that the teachers lived at the school and their beds folded out of the closet...but thats just me.
i used to belive that teachers lived at the school. I thought that they would sleep in their rooms and if u bushed all the deskes together it would make a bed for them.
i believed that teachers lived in school and had to learn a script in wot to teach us the next day. lmfao.
I used to think that my teachers lived at the school and slept in the closets. although I found out that this was not true when I was 6, up until last year i still believed that teachers did not have social lives. When my study hall teacher said that he was getting married, I blurted out, "Oh my gosh you have a love life!?!?!"
When I was young like in 1st or 2nd grade i used to believe that the teachers lived above the ceilings of their classrooms or the hallways. So you can imagine my surprise one day when a) i saw the custodian and my teacher in her room on a ladder looking into the ceiling, i automatically thought that she and the custodian were married and lived up there and b) when the technician came and i asked him what is it like up in the teachers houses in the ceiling and he just laughed and patted my head... i later told my mom and she laughed and then told me the truth.
I used to believe that all teachers stayed at school every night and threw slumber parties with the other teachers because for some reason my old school used to always smell like popcorn. It was wierd.
In first grade, my teacher had a blanket and pillow on the rug where she read the children stories. People said that the teacher used the blanket and pillow and slept on the desks at night and never went home. I believed this intill my mom finally said that my teacher had a life other than teaching children all day^_^
I used to believe that teachers lived in sleeping bags under their desks up until fourth grade.
When I was about 7 I thought that teachers lived at school year-round. My mates and I would dare each other to look in the teacher's lounge to see if there were beds in there. We never did. Then one day I had to take a note to the teacher's lounge and i discovered no beds. I figured they were in the closet.
When we got to ask any question we wanted to the first thing that came out of my mouth was "Where are the beds? Why don't you live at home with your husband?" My teacher had hystarics. During confrence time my teacher told my mum and dad about my question. They cracked like eggs. OMG!
