I don't know why, but I used to believe that babies were one year old when they were born o_O.

I used to believe that since babies grew in your stomach, they HAD to come out of your stomach, belly button first.Since my mom told me about the tube in a mothers stomach connecting to your belly button,I believed babies had to come from a mom's stomach. If the mom couldn't tear her stomach open, the doctor had to use a knife. That's why I was scared to death of having a baby, but when I was ten I learned about C Section and that stuff.I never believed they could come out through your legs! After reading the article in a magazine I didn't believe babies were born in between the legs cause I just didn't want to,for like...a month. How could the fit through there??

i used to believe this till I got proper education that babies come out of the mother by operating on her stomach.I also asked her once that"mom aren't there any stitch marks on your belly" &she burst out laughing.

I used to believe that pregnant women could sit down on the toilet and accidentally give birth, and it scared me because the baby would likely drown in the water, but also because if it happened to me, I wouldn't want to have to reach into the poopy water for my baby.

I used to believe that giving birth was much easier than it apparently is. Like, I recall joking with a friend when I was about five that if his mom had pushed too hard when she was on the toilet that he would have popped out.

I used to think that to give birth, a woman had a slit cut into her inner thigh, and the baby would come out.

When I was really little I watched this move that showed a cat giving birth. To me, it looked like the cat was "pooping out" the baby (which is what I said to my mom). So for a while after watching this movie I believed that babies came out of the same place poop came out of and if a women wanted to have a baby she could just strain really hard and out it would pop!

When I was really, really little I used to think that when a woman got pregnant she waited until the baby was ready and then pressed her bellybutton and the baby would pop out!

For the longest time, I didn't know about labor. I just thought women decided they were ready for the baby to be born, went to the hospital, laid down, and POP! If only it was that easy!

i used to believe that when a woman gets shot in the stomach, and she goes to hospital, she gives birth to a baby.

and this belief was strengtened by the fact that one of our neighbour gave birth to a baby in times of racial riots in our area.........

I used to watch shows such as "A Baby Story" and "Maternity Ward". My 3 year old son would catch bits and pieces every now and then. So when I got pregnant with my daughter he told me that he knew the baby would come out of my "hoo-hoo". He then proceeded to tell me that I shouldn't worry when it fell off because they would sew it back on! LOL

When I worked at the YMCA. I was in charge of the 5 year olds. I was pregnant with my 1st child and quite large and two of my boys were fighting. I asked what was the problem and they were fighting over where my baby would come out of..one said the belly button and one said it fall out of "where a girl pees at"...then the asked me...needless to say that was a 'go ask you mother' moment.:)

I used to believe that babies were born from a girl's belly button instead of...you know what. Because when I asked my mom where babies come from, thats what she told me so that's what I thought up until a few years ago and I'm 14 so ya...pretty embarassing!

I used to believe that babies came out through the mother's belly and they sewed up the stomach afterwards.

When I was a little kid, I don't know why, but I thought when a woman had a baby, she would lay on her stomach and it came out of her butt. And when she was having a baby, the baby would trigger something in her neck muscle and she would be able to twist it around and see the baby coming out. Wierd huh?

When I was little, my grandma had problems with her stomach and had her stomach cut open a couple of times. Well, since she had kids before, i thought that when you had a kid they shot out of your belly button. I believed this until i was 9 when my mom explained your period.

I knew babies grew inside the mother, but not how they were born. I thought the mother had a door on her back that opened up, like the battery compartment some of my talking dolls had. The baby would just fall out.

When I have told this as an adult, every mother who has heard it has said something like, "if only."
