When I was younger and I didnt eat my dinner my mother told me she was going to call the food poliece and they were going to come and take me away. She was really just calling my dad at work, and when he would answer she would say... "is this the food poliece?"... years later my mother told me that the first time she did it my dad had no idea who that it was her and thought that she was a crazy person and she just kept going with it and when he came home later that night she told him that it was her and I didnt eat my dinner and ever since then he would go along with it.
when i was first going to school when i was six one day i said i didnt want to go my mother than said if you dont go for even 1 day the police come to your door and take you to jail for the rest of your life i actually believed this for a about 4 years!
Once my sis was using the computer, and got an illegal operation error. Me wanting to use the computer, I told her that she should get off, as if it happened again the police would come and arrest her.
When I was five I thought that if several police cars were going 100 mph on a residentual road that the back car would arrest the one in fron of his car and he would arrest the guy in front of him and so on. I was afraid that soon there would be no cops to protect my families uninsured savings account.
Back when my family got our first VCR, I used to think the police or FBI could spy on everyone, everywhere, 24 hours a day, and even if you were just making a copy of a movie on video tape, they could immediately track you down and come after you.
i used to believe that there were police in the trees, because my older sister told me that there were. she told me that if i did anything bad or messed with her they[d come down and arrest me . they were always watching me. . .or so she said
My daddy used to think that there was a children-police that killed children who was bad
When I was a child, I thought "prosecuted" meant "executed". I'd go exploring with my dad or brother in "no trespassing" areas with "Violators will be Prosecuted" signs around. It was terrifying for me!
i told my little brother (he was 7)that if you "ding-dong-ditch" people the cops could track you down and arrest you.
it scared him so much that he wrote a note to the neighbor he offended... saying "sorry about the door ball"
he is 9 and still believes it...
When I was 4 or 5, everytime a TV would broadcast an EAS test, my brother would tell me it was an FBI alert and that a killer had escaped and was coming after me!
when i was about 4 or 5, i first heard of "kids jail" (juvenile hall). i don't remember how i learned about it or who told me about it, but up till i was about 8, i thought it was a place where there were lots of toys and you got to go and get as many toys as you wanted. needless to say, when i learned what "kids jail" really was, i felt very stupid.
I used to believe that when someone sued someone else, they threw them in the sewer ^_^
I used to believe that taxis were police cars and always make sure my seatbelt was done up if one went by.
I used to believe that sharpshooters shot something sharp, like darts. Like those guns that shot tranquilizer darts to calm an animal down in "Wild Kingdom." It was the type of gun the person used and had nothing to do with skill!
For about a year when i was 12, after playing Half Life, i began to believe that the police were actual mechanized soldiers that would one day capture all the citezens of the Earth, drain the oceans, and then force us to do hard labor. After i stopped playing Halflife, i finally got rid of that phobia.
My parents took me and my siblings, plus two friends, to a local Air Force Base. They have this really great playground--every child's dream. My mom, a retired Army gal, noticed that Colby, 9 years old, was wearing an "Old Navy" shirt. On a whim, she announced to Colby that he would be arrested for wearing a Navy shirt on an Air Force Base. "You see that we're not wearing Army shirts!" she exclaimed. Colby got scared and turned his shirt inside out. Everytime an Air Force officer would walk or drive by, he'd hide under the playground!
You know those white signs that have the letters DUI crossed out and it says like "it kills, dont do it" or whatever? I always wondered why because it should be DDI and not DUI to my 6 year old logic. I always questioned what "it" was and why we cant dont do it.
i used to believe that if the police found out i had been bad, they would come to arrest me, put me straight to jail, and never let me see my mom again... that thought almost scared me to death!
When i was little, my grandmother was suing my grandfather's company that he worked for. Whenever someone said something about a lawsuit, i thought they meant grandpa was getting a new suit to wear.
i used to believe my cousins - anything they said. they loved to mess with me.
they made me really angry one time and i told my grandfather that he should call the police on them because they stole my something-or-other.
he picked up the phone, dialed (pretended to, at least) and started talking like he was talking to the cops.
when he hung up, i started freaking out because i didn't want my cousin to go to jail.
