I asked my dad where the tires come from on cars and he told me that when an airplane would fly over head they would drop their tires for the cars. I then asked what did the airplane do....he was not thinking ahead like I was

i thought that the 1977 bonneville that we had in the mid 1980s was really a limosine. i went to a catholic school with a bunch of rich kids (my parents worked hard to send us there) so i felt like i fit in cuz i thought it was a limo. a mustard colored limo.

I haven't got a full drivers license yet so my driving is still "premier" learners permit quality. My six year old niece wanted to know "why the road is always bumpy when Melvin's driving"!

When I used to be in the car with my friend and her dad, he would tell us off because the windows were steaming up and say it was our fault for breathing and that we should stop it. I would try to hold my breath for the entire journey because I thought he was serious, and try and be really gentle when I had to exhale. I really thought he was serious - I could've made myself ill!!

I used to believe that a cars rear exhaust pipe provided the power to propel the car forward. I always remember avoiding walking anywhere near the rear of a car for fear of being 'blown' off my feet.

I used to belive that all cars could talk to each other when thay were in a car park but only if thay came from the same country, so if you park a german car next to anothr german car thay would be happy till you drove away.

When we used to go on holiday, I used to think that all the cars in the same lanes as us were going to the same place and always asked if there would be room for us when we got there!!

My sister used to think that the road outside our mom's office window had a car factory on each end, just out of view. All the cars on the road were made in one of the factories, only to be driven past the window to the other one, which took them apart. She knew the factories were specially placed so you couldn't see them but she'd still make herself crazy trying.

As a little boy crazy about cars, i always wondered why cars had their engines in the front and only the VW beetle made sense to me because it had its engine in the back. after all an engine MUST be ib the back to "push" the car just as i push my toy model cars from the back.

the left/right arrows on stop lights were for cars to go sideways. I always asked can we get a car that gos sideways so we could go when the left/right arrow lit.

"soon as you invent such a car, we will have it." Dad told me.

BOY do I have a bunch of freaky looking lego cars now!!!

At the entrance to the tunnels around Pittsburgh there is a sign that says "Do not cross center line." I used to think that the line ran horizontally across the center of the tunnel and always wondered why cars kept zooming through and crossing that "center line" when the sign told them not to. I still remember my feeling of amazement when it dawned on me that the center line divided the tunnel into two parallel lanes.

I used to believe that the reflector lights dividing lanes on roads were so blind people could drive. I thought when they drove slightly out of the lane the tires would bump over the reflectors and they'd know to straighten the car.

I used to believe that a driver changed lanes because there was a sign or signal that told him he had to do it just then and just there. I think I was 5 when I realized that my father was changing lanes at his own discretion.

I believed that when driving on the highway.....everyone driving in the direction we were going to get somewhere else was also going somewhere else, and everyone going in the opposite direction was going home.
