when i was little, i beleived that if we did not have sex every week then we would die!
it was not until i was about 16 that i was told by my boy friend that it was not like that !!(he told me this while he was having sex with me)
My one friend used to belive that when gay men had sex one of the penises would open up and the other would just slide in.
I have two little stories...
1) When I was in second grade and my brother was in fifth grade, we were in the car with Mum. Dad worked for a company where we got free trips every year, and this year we were going to Puerto Rico and my brother was reading the invite. He read "cocktails and ordeurves" and thought it said "cocktails and whores", so he yelled loudly, "Gross, cocktails and whores!" I asked loudly, "What's a whore?" though Mum and my brother decided to ignore me.
Well, the next night at dinner my family was at Outback Steakhouse, and if you've ever been in one you know how crowded it is. I suddenly stood up and yelled at the top of my lungs, "DADDY, WHAT'S A WHOOORE?" The people at the surrounding tables were laughing, and I couldn't figure out why. My parents told me they'd tell me later.
2) When my brother was about two, Mum wanted Dad to teach him the "proper" names, but Dad taught him the word "dick" instead of penis even after Mum kept on telling him to teach him the "proper" name. Well, my grandpa and my brother were at a mechanic shop with a bunch of guys. My brother suddenly grabbed my grandpa's penis and yelled, "I got a big dick!" All the guys in there were laughing really hard at my grandpa, and he went off on Dad. Mum then told Dad, "Well, I told you, proper names."
My brother was a little trouble maker, ~nya? :)
When I was 7, I was filling out an application for a local play I was auditioning for. When it came to the line "Sex", I was SO confused! I thought, "Why would they want to know if I had sex or not?" So, I answered "No" (rather than list whether I was a male or female).
I used to believe there was a special tube that my parents used when they were having sex to keep the covers from tangling. Due to some inadvertent exposure to soap operas, I knew that sex involved two people, covered in bed, and a lot of motion, but I thought they'd get tangled in the covers unless they had a way to keep them held a little away from their bodies. Logical, right?
When I was about 6 or 7, I had a toy doctor's kit that included some patient's details forms. I filled one in, + in the section for 'sex' I put 'none'.
When my Mother questioned me about this, I said 'Oh, I thought it was asking if I had a boyfriend.'
She looked a bit taken aback.
i used to think that there was no movement in the sexual act. in my mind, penetration would occur and then you'd just lie there. unbelievably, i thought this until i was about seventeen.
when i was about 15 years old i saw an comedian on tv which he was bitching about his wife who was spending too much money he said: 'with ten of these meals i can afford Yab Yum.'
I thought Yab Yum was a very expensive restaurant.
Later at an family dinner (it was my grandma's birthday) we went to a nice restaurant. Feeling quite the comedian i tried the same joke. My cousin started laughing at me.
But not in the way i thought he would....
turned out Yab Yum is a Brothel in amsterdam
Because my scope of the naked body was limited to my own (female) and my barbies', I used to believe that sex was when a male and female rubbed their bodies together, making sure that the lower private parts were touching. I had no idea what was really involved. :)
In high school, like until I was 17, I knew gay men had a variety of ways they had sex. I did not, however, understand what scissoring was in terms of lesbian sex. I just thought there was mostly hand activity involved. I was also a very politically literate kid (contradictory, I know) and was very concerned with the problem of female genital mutilation in many countries. So at lunch one day one of my girl friends made a joke about scissoring and I was SO FURIOUS at her that she would make a joke about such a completely terrible thing that was done to women and girls. She explained to me what scissoring really was and I was mortified at my mistake.
Also, when I was in 3rd grade, I sort of had a generic understanding that sometimes people had something called sex and sometimes that made babies. But I really had no idea what the word sex meant at all. So I overheard some of the bigger kids at school talking about their friend and said she was bumping and grinding with her boyfriend and they got pregnant. I was confused and decided it must mean that if a boy bumps into you and sort of rubs against you as you walk past, even on accident, that must be what sex really was. So later that week, a boy bumped into me, brushed past, and I fell down. Went home in tears because I was sure I was pregnant. Told mom a boy bumped and grinded me and now I was pregnant. She started crying because she thought something terrible happened to me, and asked me to tell her exactly what happened. I did, and she started to laugh which scared me more. She then said that was just an expression for sex and had nothing to do with someone bumping into you. Still didn't understand what sex was but was happy I couldn't do it by accident. Got the talk officially a few weeks later when I walked in on her and dad.
Until I was 8 I thought that people could only kiss if they were married. I thought actors in movies who weren't married in real life wore fake lips to kiss. I spent so much time wondering how they got fake lips to look so real
When I was first told that nipples became hard during sexual excitement, I figured lesbians must use their nipples for penetration... I remember thinking that they seemed awfully small for that...
My friend's little brother was always interested in girls and wanted to know about sex, but knew he couldn't say it but could spell it out like adults did "bad words" so we told him sex was spelled p-e-r. We asked him what he knew about p-e-r and he told us that first you met a girl and sat down for drinks, then you went upstair and rubbed wee-wees and had a cigarette. (way to much TV) Imagine our suprise when he came home from first grade one day and told us he'd had p-e-r....
i used to think giving head was rubbing ur head around the guys privates...and it sumhow tickled him...i was like 9
When I was at Summer Camp one year, a few years ago, our counselors were talking and they were talkign about that song "I Like Big Butts", which has the word "sprung" in it. I thought that the line "I get sprung" means that the person got happy. So for the rest of camp, until my counselors heard and corrected me, I would go around saying things like, "I'm really sprung right now."
i used to think that when you had sex you would never get out of bed because
you didnt have enough energy so i used to get scared of when my mummy had sex
because she would never get up
When I was young (about 6 or 7) I used to believe that during sex the man inserted his penis into the belly button, I obviously hadn't witnessed the size of an erection at that point.
When I was 9 or somewhere around there, a friend of mine who's mother was a doctor and apparantly told him "everything" said that in order to have sex, you had to get a boner and then when you peed, white fluid would come out. I pictured a long, thin, hollow piece of bone that you would put up against your penis, then pee out of, and the boner would change the pee into semen.
last time we girls used to say "its unfair. girls have periods but guys dont!" then someone told us guys have wet dreams. i thought that it was something like they wet their beds (urine) uncontrollably and it happens on a regular basis (just like periods)
I already knew about sex, as I was in 6th grade, and a smart kid, but my mom told my dad to finally give me "the birds and the bees" talk. So he came up to me and said "There's birds, there's bees, and there's women... choose the latter."
