The world was black and white before colour photographs and colour TV

Like many people - I believed that things in the past were all in Black and White and that Colour was a recent invention (coinciding with the invention of the colour tv - naturally). I remember watching a school program one day and it was a recreation of a typical 40s/50s small northen (england) town and family... and it was in colour!! I was sooo confused (I remember thinking "this is so wrong, they've put colour into it!").. then I realised... luckily I never said anything at the time :D

I used to believe that the world used to be in black and white. Historic times and events were shown in old film clips and only in "modern times" were shown in color. To me the world of color could not have existed in the past.

I used to believe that the world had no colors, but was all black and white. This belief came about because of watching old movies that were filmed in black and white. I thought the world had somehow changed and became colorful at the time color filming began. I believed the color or lack of color in movies reflected real life.

when I was a kid I thought the world was black n white at one time, because of black n white pictures. I asked my grandpa when the world turned to color as i held a black n white picture, he said what are you talking about? I said when did everything become color? He said It's always been in color. but they did'nt have color film in the old days. Silly Me

While I was growing up, my mother used to show me pictures of herself as a child and tell me wonderful stories.I really thought that there was no color in the old days because the pictures were all in black and white. I remember seriously pondering thoughts about when color came into our lives.

When i was little, i used to believe that the world was in black and white 50 and more years ago, because movies and TV shows from that time were in black in white. I remember when i went up to my dad and asked "what was it like when the world was black and white?". He didnt understand so i told him and he laughed. I got confused and he told me the truth. I wonder what life would be like if everything WAS in black and white...

When i was young, i had seen movies that were black and white so I thought that years ago, every one and everything was black and white and then someday colour just started appearing.

until I was about 8 or 9 I believed that all movies filmed in black and white actually represented how the world looked. that everything in the world before the dawn of color film actually existed in black and white.

I used to believe that the world used to be black and white in the olden days as all the pictures of the olden days were on the tv in black and white. I was born in the age of colour tv and it didn't occur to me that they didn't have colour pictures.

When my Mom would tell me stories from her childhood, I always thought she saw things in Black & White (cause after all, all the 'olden' movie are B&W!!)
