I used to believe in closet monsters. Before I slept at night, the closet door and my room door HAD to be shut closed. Im now 21 and I dont believe in closet monsters anymore, but my closet door and room door still HAS to be closed for me to be able to have a goodnight sleep.

When I was 4, I use to tape my closet door shut and stuff stuffed animals under my bed believing that the boogieman can't get inside my room.

I used to think that when i would go to bed, a portal would open up in my closet, and spew a neverending legion of undead soldiers. When i had a dream that was exactly like i explained it and i woke up, i realized it would only happen in my dreams and never in real life.

When I was little my friend and I thought that my bedroom closet was a time machine. We would go in there and spin around and come out and be all dizzy. We would then walk around my house and look for things from the past. We would say my cat was a saber tooth tiger.

My friends and their kids stayed over a couple of weeks ago. Their 5 year old is afraid of monsters in the closet. Well, I sleep in my closet because it is a walk-in the size of a bedroom (in a studio apt.). We were getting ready for bed and he said that he couldn't sleep there because there were monsters in my closet. I told him there were no monsters because I sleep in there and there is nothing scarier than me!

I used to believe that sequins grew on trees-- when I was small I refused to wear sequined clothing. I now know the truth, however, I still don't like wearing sequins. :)

When I was younger, I believed that this very large baby lived in my brother's closet and that he ate everything in sight. He name was the "yum-yum boy" and he haunted my dreams. It was also my belief that when the toilet was flushed, the yum-yum boy would come out of the closet and eat me. Whenever I went to the bathroom, I would prepare to run down the stairs as fast as I could as soon as I flushed the toilet. I'm still here....

I used to believe that a white gorilla from an episode of Star Trek lived in my closet. I had gorillas issues.

When I was about 6 I used to think if I left my closet open when I was just about to go to sleep that the clothes would walk out and get me, but they couldn't if I didn't keep the closet open.

I scared myself so much the one time I left my closet open I made myself belive they were coming out so I had to have my big white bear come save me! So I would slowly crawl to the edge of my bed take my blanket crawl across the floor to where my stuffed animals were then get the bear and sleep with it right above my head as I balled myself right in the middle of the bed.

I used to think that Freddie Kreuger was in my closet with his scary nails reaching out under the door crack to get me. I never had my bed next to the closet when I was little!

I used to think that if you watched a horror movie, the monster or bad guy of the movie would be allowed to leave the movie and go in your room at night. Then they would watch you from the closet or under the bed and wait til you were alone to attack. I used to get sooo scared. Especially after watchin that movie When a Stranger Calls. I thought that the man would come and get me in the middle of the night. Honestly, i still do sometimes!

When I was little, I had a fear of closets. I thought that my bedroom closet had skeletons in it who would drop stuff in my ears at night that would make me their mind-control slave.

When I was five I believed the Crypt Keeper lived in my bedroom closet (from insisting upon watching tales from the dead one night), I wouldn't allow my mother to turn the bedroom lights off at night until the closet was closed, so the keeper wouldn't get me as I slept.

I did, however, hold nightly conversations with her (I decided it was a female), about damn near everything.

... To this day I won't sleep without my closet shut.

When I was 11 and my brother moved out his room was converted to a storage room. I used to like to hang out there, and since I had no friends to hang out with, I would hang out there with my cats. Well, in the closet there was a little hole in the wall that I barely paid any attention to until my cat started scratching at it. From then on my vivid imagination made me think that that hole led to a path which led to another secret world. And when I brought my cat in there I hoped that he would scratch the hole open, opening the door to the other world.

I always had and still do have a vivid imagination.

I saw the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe on TV when I was four, so I decided to go and sit in this huge wardrobe in my parents' room to try and get into Narnia. I sat there for an hour before I realised it wouldn't work.

When i was little i used to believe that the boogie man lived in my closet, but when i went into my closet, he quickly went under my bed, so one day i decided to mix a bunch of nasty crap in a dish a feed it to him, so i put it on my dresser, hid in my closet and called for him to go and eat it. without me knowing, my sister was listening and took it out of my room so i would think he ate it. when i came out of the closet i noticed it was gone and i thought i defeated the boogie man and was all proud until my sister finally told me she did it. which was a long time after

I had a nightmare one day that there was a man hiding in my closet and no one believed me and he ended up killing my entire family. For a couple of months I made sure to put various objects around the knobs of my closet to tie it shut. I however still can't sleep with the closet open.
