This one is slightly bizarre, but I used to think
That when you had a haircut and it had to be right below your ears, you had to bring a picture of yourself as a baby, so that they would know what length they had to cut it to, to match the shape of your face. I honestly don't know why.

I used to think that bleaching your hair meant washing your hair with toilet bleach.

When I was little I thought that dying your hair means you kill your hair.

I used to believe that anti-dandruff shampoo would get rid of dandruff permanently the first time you used it, but then give you dandruff again the next time you used it, and would keep alternating between removing it and putting it back with each use.

I read a book about how a woman was reluctant to take her daughters to the barber because the family was "scrimping and pinching". That made me think that scrimping and pinching had something to do with getting your hair cut.

As a child, I had unruly bushy and wavy brown hair. One of the biggest factors was my “cow lick”. Every time I heard the term, I envisioned being an infant crawling through a pasture, being licked by a cow.

This one's a bit embarrassing. I heard someone referring to an old, bald guy as an "old coot", so I thought that a coot meant a bald man.

When I was about 4 my Mom told me we were going to the hair salon to get me bangs and I started crying hysterically. She was baffled and commented that I had had bangs before but that didn't help my gears. Finally I managed to communicate that I thought she was taking me to have a beating where I would get "bangs" on my forehead.Ouch!

As a little kid,, I thought that my mom's purple hair was natural, and then i found out she dyed it

I thought highlights and lowlights in hair were always natural instead of dye, and I never could figure out how some people would have part of their hair blonde and part of it black without any of it being brown in-between.

I used to think that pubic hair was "public" hair and it didn't make any sense because pubic hair is private, not public

I used to think if you hung out with somebody who had nice hair, your hair would become as pretty as theirs- it would change color and style and look like theirs. I also used to talk to my hair to inspire it to look like their hair, but I guess it was never inspired.
Don't worry, I don't to it anymore.

One time, I watched a video about puberty & growing up. It talked about how both male and female grow pubic hair and whatnot. Yet, the arrow wasn't that specific, and I thought pubic hair referred to ALL hair on the body, except eyebrows, eyelashes, and head hair. So, when my older sister made me massage her feet, I cringed and said,
"I just can't stand your pubic hair."
My sister and her friend died, and I was really confused. I later on found out that pubic hair refers to the PUBIC AREA ONLY, not the entire body.
