This one is probably extremely common. I used to believe that all TV and radio was live--REALLY live. The shows and music were performed as they were broadcast, and when you changed channel or frequency, they quickly shuffled in a new band or show. When you turned your radio or TV off, they shut down.
When I was a kid, I thought that all of the music on the radio was live - that the DJs had all of these artists in the studio with them. I found out when my family was listening to the classical station and I asked my mom how big the studio must be for that whole orchestra to be playing in there.
My 18 yr. old daughter recently told me that when she was little, she thought the songs she heard on the radio were being sung live. Imagine her confusion when she heard the same song at the same time on different stations.
When I was little, I used to think that the bands on the radio were actually at the radio station performing...until one day my dad turned the station and the same song was playing, boy did that mess me up lol
When I was young, I thought all the bands were lined up at the radio station, waiting their turn to go in and play their one song, then leave and the next band would come in.. etc...

I used to believe that the people on the radio were singing live. Not a recording, but live people singing.
I used to believe that the man on the radio, was sitting in a studio and live bands would show up and play the song. I never considered the logistics of this...
I used to believe when a song was played on the radio, the singer/band was called up from whatever they were doing to sing on a big stage and that was being recorded and sent to my radio. i thought the same thing for my CD player too.
I used to think that all the songs I heard on the radio were played live at the radio stations by the artists.
Whenever I listened to the radio, I thought that whenever a song came on, the actual singer was in the studio. In other words, if a Gloria Estefan song came on the radio, I thought she was in the studio singing it.
my dad used to believe when he heard songs on the radio the real groups and singers were down at the radio station singing
I used to believe that the music on the radio was actually played by the bands at the radio station. I used to think that it must be a lot of work for them to keep moving from station to station.
I used to think that when a song was played on the radio that the band or singer was actually in the radio station playing. I wondered how the station could fit so many people to play all the songs.
I used to believe that the music on the radio was being played live by musicians in the radio studio. No concept of recorded tunes at all.
When i was younger I used to believe that when a song was being played on the radio station, the band was in the radio station playing it live.
i was little, about 5 or 6 and i was listening to the radio one day. Obviously, songs are played one after another, and so i thought to myself- WOW! how do they get all the bands into the studio so quick?! i had never heard of cd's and cassettes before...!
