when I was in 6th grade, my boyfriend asked me if I was a virgin. I didn't know the meaning of it, so I thought he was asking me if I was a lesbian. I ended up saying, "Of course not! If I was, why would I be going out with you?"
The teacher was standing right there too.

when i was younger i thought that a virgin was some kind of religion. (virgin mary and whatnot) so one day i was at the boys and girls club with these girls i was "friends" with at the time and they were talking about whos a virgin and whos not, (mind you this is about 4th grade) and i said "im not a virgin!" and they started laughing at me and i couldnt understand why. eventually i found out what a virgin was and couldnt beleive id said that.

I'm a high school student and we recently performed "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" for our spring musical. Any of you who know the show, you know that it has alot of "adult humor" and some double meanings...all that fun stuff. Well, My mother came to see it (I was the assistant stage manager, so she was mad that I wasn't in it this year...o well) and she brought along my 9 year old brother. After the performance, he asked my mom what a virgin was. She said it was a nickname for Virginia.

I'm now a little nervous about his reaction when he learns the truth...

First time other kids said to me, "are you a virgin?", I only knew of virgins from the megastores and the record label. And maybe the virgin mary, but didn't get the significance. So of course I said "no"...

Oh, and not knowing what "Virginia" was, so wondered why anyone was selling tobacco called "golden vagina". Oops.

When I was little, my best friend and I went online and saw an porn-ad email with the term 'virgins' in the title. When we asked my dad what a virgin was he said it was a woman who isn't married. Since my friend's mom was divorced, she told all the adults her mother was a virgin.

This was the girl in our school named Mary Louise and every time you would ask her if she was a virgin she would reply with "No I'm a Christian"

In about 2nd grade I thought "virgin" and "lesbian" were the same thing. I knew they both had to do with sex, and therefore was "bad" so once my friends asked me, "Are you a virgin?" (i don't know why we were asking this question in 2nd grade) and I got all indignant thinking they were asking if I was a lesbian and said, "Gross, No!"
Years later, and I'm a lesbian. ;)

When I was little, I knew that a virgin was someone who hadn't had sex. Nobody ever told me what a person was called who did have sex so I thought that a pedestrian was someone who had had sex.

I didn't learn what sex was until I was home alone and watched this program on TV about sex...

My Family Life teacher was a big, fat, idiot and just assumed everybody already knew what you did during sexual intercourse because of the media.

So, up until I was 15, I believe sex was kissing, and when you lost your virginity, it was just when you kissed a boy.

when i was about 10 i had overheard a group of girls asking eachother if they were virgins, i asked them what they meant by that and they then told me that a virgin was someone who had never kissed anyone before. so they next day in class i proudly tell everyone that im not a virgin at all, and havent been one since i was 8. my teacher must of been worried. now i know better.

When I was little, I thought a virgin was a little magician...like Micky Mouse was in Fantasia, until I was watching a TV show and it mention it, and I asked my mother what it was and she told me truthfully.

I used to believe that to lose one's virginity, all that was required was to be kissed...
So, I told everyone that I had lost my virginity - to my mother. OY!

My sister was sitting at the breakfast table one morning near Christmas when she suddenly said to my mom, "Mom, a vegeatarian's someone who only eats vegetables, right?"
"Yes, honey," my mom replied.
"And...a vegan's someone who doesn't eat any animal stuff, right?"
"Yes, honey," said my mom, wondering where this one was going.
"So, mom...what's a virgin?" she asked innocently.
My mom explained it all, but I don't think she quite got it, as she later wrote in one of her school-books, "The lady's name is Layla-May, and she is a virgin"...
Also, once when I was little I found my mom's pills on the bedside table. I asked my dad what they were and he told me they'd stop her having a baby.
For years after I believed that if she didn't take a pill every day, a baby would spontaneously pop out of her belly...
