When I was about 4 or 5 years old.. I thought that mice lived in the stop lights. I also thought that they wore little uniforms.. (the mouse that worked the red light would wear a red shirt and red hat, etc.) I would watch many cartoons and I believed that the mice were toons.. It took A LOT of explaining for my parents to change my mind!!
I used to believe that little, skinny men lived inside stop lights and looked out through a tiny hole and changed the lights manually
i used to believe that the traffic lights had little monkeys inside, so they were in charge of changing the color of the lights =(
when i was young, i used to believe that little elf men controlled the traffic lights, and when it seemed like you were waiting forever for the light to change to green, the men where on their lunch break.
I used to think that three little men worked inside traffic lights, and whenever the light needed to change, one of them would turn a colored flashlight on. I also thought the "red" one (stop) was mean, the "green" one (go) was nice, and the "yellow" one (slow) was just lazy.
When i was little i always thought there were little men inside the traffic lights changing the light
i used 2 belive that there were tiny people in the stoplights and they pressed a button to make it green, yellow and red

I used to believe there were little tiny troll-like men who lived inside the traffic lights. I remember them: sitting behind a computer with several screens and buttons, etc. Man, were they ugly.

I used to believe that little gnomes worked in the traffic lights. One would run from red to green to yellow at the appropriate times. I used to sit in my parent's car at the red light straining my eyes to see the tiny door the gnomes would enter through on their way to "work".
When I was little I used to believe that stoplights were controlled by tiny mice that lived inside the wires, and that if I forgot to "feed" the mice by throwing some air over my shoulder, they would die, but if I asked politely they would change the color of the light for me.
When I was little and went on road trips, I would pass those electrical boxes on the side of the road, you know? They're grey and metal. Well, I used to think that to make the traffic lights change colours, little Keebler-elf like people would sit in there with a periscope and watch traffic, and when it would get busy, they would change the light from red to green.
