Whenever one of my fish floated belly up to the top of the tank my dad would take it out. He told me that the fish were going to Dr. Fish-a-ma-jig. Not sure why I never realized that the doctor's office was actually located in the toilet.

My dad told me a haggis was an animal which lived in the Scottish mountains and 1 of its legs are shorter than the others so it could only run round in circles around the mountain which made them easy to catch. I believed this until I was about 14-15

My cousin lived near what my Parents, and Aunt and Uncle called a swamp. They told us never to go in the swamp because it had alligators and crocodiles in it. We wouldn't go in and if a ball went in the swamp it was gone forever. They just didn't wan't us getting hurt, but I was scared to death when we brought our dog over when he would travel into the swamp. We live in New England, so when I got a little older I realized it wasn't really true.
I once thought that all dogs were yellow, brown, or black, (all with floppy ears and red collars of course) and all cats were orange or black.
When I was about 5 or 6, someone who illegally kept a pet lion in St. Louis had it escape. We lived about an hour south and everytime we went anywhere in the car, I would curl up on the floor if my parents weren't looking (seat belt rules) because I was terrified it was going to come get me. At night I was scared to sleep because I thought it would come crashing thru the window to get me. I don't know why I thought I was such a lion magnet.

Once in a while the news reports showed people getting injured by bulls in Spain. I used to think they didn't have good locks to lock the bulls up and therefore they escaped and hurt people. I didn't know they ran with the bulls on purpose until I was 20!
When I was younger, my dad told me that the cattle the were grown around our hometown (Santa Maria, CA) were a special breed that had longer legs on one side of their body than the other. The reason for this, he stated, was to help them keep their balance with the hills that made the area's landscape; if the legs were the same length the cattle would fall over and roll down the hill every time they stood up!
