I used to believe that all dogs were boys and all cats were girls.
I used to think there were sharks in the local swimming pool or even in my bath, I always would freak out during swimming lessons.
My brother use to chase me around with a shark book and try to stuff this huge blown up picture of a shark in my face all of the time and I'd always scream and run away. I was terrified of the pool, always thinking that somehow magically a shark would come out and eat me, especially in the night time for some reason. I also thought, i don't know where this even came from, that military helicopters would fly over my pool and drop "testing" sharks in my pool for some reason. And sometimes I would take late night showers, and I could never be in the shower at 12 o clock because I always thought that a shark would bust through the wall at that exact time with tsunami water and get me.
My cousin used to tell me if you watched a dog pee, you get pink eye. I believed him.
My cousin told me that if you look into my grandma's cat's eyes, you can see the future.
I believed it but was afraid of getting scratched in the face by doing so, so I never tried it.

When I was very small my parents told my twin brother and I that if we told a seagull our names they would let us catch them. That would lead to two small children chasing seagulls around the beach shouting their names as loud as we could. It never would but we kept believing it would ( maybe we were supposed to speak in Seagull)
I used to believe that cows slept underground.
I think my parents must've told me they slept "on the ground," but I didn't heat them correctly...thus the underground belief.
When I was 6 or 7 we had a pet tortoise who had previously belonged to my Aunt. One day my parents told me it was taken to the Zoo because the Zoo didn't have one. Turns out he died during hibernation and was thrown in a rubbish skip. I'm 21 now and believed the Zoo story up until about a month ago!

I'm from Wisconsin and knew quite young that milk came from cows--from those things on the bottom of their tummies. Somehow I assumed that our water came from horses! Perhaps I'd seen one "making water" in a field and then drew that conclusion?

When I was younger, I had a pet ant named Anty.(oringinal, huh?) Anyway, I went through, like, eight Antys. This was because, I believed everytime one died (my family stepped on him) he'd be reborn in to a new Anty. ... Wow. I had a reincarnating ant.
