When I was around 3 or 4, I believed that all dogs were boys and all cats were girls......I found out that 'myth' was a mistake. It's funny---almost all the dogs I've owned over the years have been boys....and me? I'm alergic to cats....
funny---the things we believe...as kids
When I was little and my family would go for a drive I used to think that there were dinosaurs alseep buried under the hills. I would imagine how they would look when they woke up and all the dirt started falling off of them.
Did anyone watch the old '80's Sesame Street? Does anyone remember the little cartoon clip that had a boy brushing his teeth, and washing his hands all while letting the water run? Does anyone remember the fish that swam up through the pipes to pop out of the drain to yell at him to turn the water off? For years I used to believe you had to keep soap suds/toothpaste/ect. running down the drain, lest that fish think you were wasting water and swimming up to yell at you.
I used to believe that black cats had been witches in previous lives. So I therefore believed that black cats could understand what I was saying in the same way a human could and that they had magical powers to make wishes come true. Once I was playing in the street when I spotted a black cat. So I knelt down and whispered wishes in the cat's ear like 'Can you make me have loads of birthday presents?' and 'Can you make the nasty people at school start being nice to me?' I later begged Mum to buy me my own black cat so that I wouldn't have to keep looking for them in the street. (Mum said no).

When I was little I believed our family dog was a spy for my mom. I always tried to be good in front of him but if I slipped up I would beg him not to tell.
My mom always told us not to stare at dogs doing pottie or having sex because we would get a stye on our eye.
i did not understand the differences between snakes and worms. I distinctly remember being startled by a 2 inch long twig, fearing that it was a snake and that it would bite me.

When I was about six, I was convinced that the quartz crystals I would occasionally find in gravel were actually dinosaur teeth.
You know the movie 'Planet of the Apes'- the one from the 70's? I used to believe that the guard apes, the ones with the ammo wrapped around their bodies, were real-that they really talked, and acted like adults (I was about 5 to 6 yrs old at the time). I wondered if there were really ape 'actors' a special breed that could do what humans do!
When we were kids (obviously) my sister used to tell me she could talk to crows, a crow, - She told me he would bring her pink stones every time he visited. I thought she was making it all up (she liked feeding me LIES!) until one day when we were walking the dog i saw pink stones (spray painted but pink stones none the less) on the ground and then there was the crow..... so i apologized, realized how special my sister was and never doubted her again...

One summer when I was 5 years old I was visiting my grandparents with my younger sister. Gramma had brought us from Alberta to Nova Scotia on the train. One thing I remember is that there were many dragonflies which I was afraid of because my Grandfather told me that if I ever told a lie, that a dragonfly would come and sew my mouth shut.
I used to believe butterflies made butter.
i used to think the cat Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch was a relative of the talking cats from the Meow Mix commercial.
When I was little, I used to think all dogs were boys and all cats were girls. I guess cats just looked more feminine?
I used to believe that ALL cats were girls, and ALL dogs were boys. There was no other option.
I used to think that white dog poo was produced from white dogs and brown poo from brown dogs
