I used to believe that older men were bald because squirrels stole their hair... that's also why squirrels had such bushy tails.

I used to believe that deer listened to the radio, an idea that I got from believing that antlers were vaguely the same sort of thing as antennae
I used to believe there were intelligent people until I saw a whole section devoted to "OMG I used to believe that earwigs crawled into people's ears! LIKE O.M.G!!"
Except... earwigs HAVE been known to crawl into ears before, and it's very painful when it happens. Maybe they don't have nasty intentions and eat your brains like the old tales you might have heard, but if you're not careful they can crawl into your ear!

I used to believe that horses ate cows and this was why you would never see them in the same field. Not entirely sure where that one came from.
when i was little i used to believe that those little white butterflies ate your clothes so whenever i saw them id run inside and hide
My brother told me that I used to have an older sister but she turned into a dog cause she ate dog food. I didn't believe. He then proceded to pull the "well then, why dont you try it?" come back. Needless to say, I didn't. I still didn't believe him, but to this day he still thinks he convinced me.
When we were little, my sister told me that my pajamas were made out of caterpillars--and I believed it for years!
When I was little I used to believe that if you wanted a milkshake that you had to go and get a cow and shake it until a milkshake came out.
I used to believe wolverines made good housepets -- I was wrong.
I used to be terribly afraid of getting bitten by a mosquito because I thought that was how you caught Meningiococcal disease.
I used to believe that if you left any of your toys laying on the ground at night then a big bird-like monster would come and gobble them all up. It really hit me when one of my Barbie shoes went missing one night.

I used to believe that chipmunks grew up to be squirrels. I don't know where I got the idea from but I lived most of my childhood life believing this!
I used to think that all cats were girls and all dogs were boys. This seemed logical because when we were kids, I always wanted a cat and my brother always wanted a dog. I was very confused when ever I came across a female dog or a male cat. I still called them he/she as I thought they should be.
I used to believe that, while we were potty-training our dog, he was able to read the newspaper we always put him on to train to pee on that and not the house, since he always used to look down, and, sometimes I even asked him what the news was. Let's just say he looked at me, and then at the floor, and I took it to mean that the news that day wasn't very good. I was only 7.

my mum used to say to me shut the door or you will let a draught in, but i thought she was saying giraffe, and i was terrified that giraffes must be on the loose and very dangerous!
Iv always been a cat person but I heard from my sister when i was much younger that when you die your cats will eat you body.

My brother & I visited the zoo with some friends when we were about 7 and 9. One of our friends was a little boy with a very loud shrill voice. While I'm looking at an exhibit I hear him shouting over and over.
"Come look! This rhinoceros has FIVE legs! Look! It's got five legs!"
Of course I had to see this for myself. I got over there and sure enough it had five legs! I yelled
"Hey! It Does have........."
and then it dawned on me.
"No it doesn't."
I swear it looked like another leg though.
My mum used to dry flowers at home by hanging them from string in the kitchen. One day when i was about 4 I found a box of tampons...I thought she had hung mice out to dry by thier tails! Poor mice.
I used to believe that if you could pick up big white rocks, there would be puppies and kittens underneath. (My sister told me this).
