animals: cats and dogs

I used to think Alsatian dogs were called 'Old Stations'.

My little bro used to think when the family dog was in heat that she needed a tampon like the "big girls".

I used to believe that after cats had been spayed, they weren't sewn up, they were stapled instead, and if you made them sneeze they would pop. I wasn't a psycho kid either, surprisingly.

I had an 18 lb. cat who ate rubber bands, I used to believe she could bounce away if not careful.

I used to belive that cats and dogs were brothers and sisters. Based on my halfsisters sentens: "When i was younger me and my brother were like cat and dog".

When I was a kid, I was very much fond of cats. I really wondered how cats rise their kittens. I thought the kittens came straight out of their belly by making a hole in it. The hole then vanishes with course of time.

I thought that the Gremlin rules (from the movie, like don't get the wet, don't feed them after midnight) applied to all animals. I was so scared when my dog was outside in the rain.

I could talk (bark) with dogs, and
understand everything they were saying.
Other people claimed that I couldn't,
but I thought they were just being stubborn.

When I was little, and even now, I believed that I had to watch my cats when I brought them home to see if they were good or evil. I was afraid they might try to kill me or eat me at night if I went to sleep so I could never go to sleep when I brought them home on the first night.

when I was a kid in the 70's there was an unusual abundance of white dog poo in the lanes by my grandma's house at the seaside. I believed this unusual stuff was produced only by little white poodles...

My sister's kid was given the honour of naming their new chocolate lab. He picked Olive. Why Olive? He was the other reindeer.(All of the other reindeer.)

Once I asked my mom what the little specks flying around in a ray of sun shining through the window were. She said it was "flying dust". I misunderstood, and thought she said "flying dogs". For years, I imagined these microscopic cats and dogs flying around in rays of light.

I used to believe that, whenever you got a new puppy or kitten, you got to pick its gender, but it only worked if no one had chosen a gender for it before you.
