animals: cats and dogs

When I was young, I used to think that my dogs would wait until my whole family was asleep then unzip their animal costumes (on their bellies) and pop out to act like we do. I imagined them sitting properly in chairs and fetching cups from the cupboards. This would, of course, end as dawn was approaching and we were about to wake up. They would climb back into their pet costume and resume their place as our pets. Everytime they would roll onto their back for a scratch I would look for the zipper.

I once asked my mom when our cat would learn how to talk.

When I was a kid I thought that all dogs were boys and all cats were girls. When sex-ed came along I was super confused on how each species kept going.

My 3 year old son was sobbing his heart out one day. I asked him what was wrong. He said our dog, a male, was laying an egg and he didn't want puppies. He actually had vomited up knickers.

I used to believe that when animals died, they became stars in the sky. We lived in the country, and I had more than one cat disappear, most likely to the unlucky dinner of local coyotes and red foxes. I would lay in the front yard at night for hours crying and trying to console my young heart with the twinkling stars above.

When I was, like, three, i thought my cat was an evil sorcerer and would cast a spell on me. XD

As a kid I thought dogs stupid but funny and that cats were evil demons.

My grandma got a cat when I was about 4-5 and I figured she must have picked it up off a shelf at the grocery store, like bread or cereal. It never occurred to me that I'd never seen cats and dogs on the shelves there, it just seemed natural.

I used to believe that all the dogs were male and that all the cats were female. I believed this until I saw a male cat and a female dog.

When I was a child I was smarter then my parents, so my parents were embarrassed because I knew much they didn't and they stopped telling me things. So, until the age of about eight I thought that the dogs were the boys and the cats were the girls.

I used to believe as a child that cats were the girls (since they were kinda prissy and feminine) and dogs were the boys (since they were kinda rough and tuff) and if they had babies cats were born for the female sex and dogs were born for the male sex.

I thought dogs were the males and cats were the females - because obviously, cats were the smaller, prettier ones.

I used to believe that the cats were the girls and the dogs were the boys. I also thought that the cat was the princess and the dog was the prince. So, I thought the dogs were the daddies and the cats were the mommies.

When my dogs didnt stop barking my sister told me to scream, "with the power of Christ" so that they would stop. so i believed it for many years.
