My mom told me that cats had secret pockets... and I believed her. I would pet the cats until they got annoyed with me, feeling around for their pockets.

I used to believe that, while we were potty-training our dog, he was able to read the newspaper we always put him on to train to pee on that and not the house, since he always used to look down, and, sometimes I even asked him what the news was. Let's just say he looked at me, and then at the floor, and I took it to mean that the news that day wasn't very good. I was only 7.

So, we had a dog named Rodin when I was a kid, and he was doing well until he got cancer. The only reason I didn’t kiss him goodbye before he was put down, was because I though cancer was contagious and didn’t want to contract it.

I had the IQ of a toothbrush. 😞

When I was very little, we had a pomeranian and a cat. I used to think that if you put your finger in a dog or cat's ear, a little dog or cat's head would grow on the tip of your finger.
