Cats and dogs are the same species

I used to believe that all cats were females and all dogs were males and they mated together and you got either a boy dog or a girl cat. Unfortunately to this day I refer to all dogs as males and cats as females! Somethings never change.

My sister used to believe that cats and dogs were the same type of animal. Cats were the females and dogs were the males, which is why she was confused when our dog had puppies.

When i was very young i thought that all cats were female and all dogs were boys . I didnt quite grasp the consept of reproducing.
