I used to believe that mirrors are doors to a world of opposite chirality, but we cannot cross it because our counterpart is also doing the same and both are pressing against each other.

I used to believe that if I fell asleep in the bathtub I would wake up in the sea.
I was always certain that there was either an alligator or a shark in the plumbing of my bathtub. I used to tell them stories while I was taking a bath to make sure they didn't eat me. I think I was in my late teens before I stopped worrying about it.
When I was little, I went to my grandma's house a lot. One day, my smaller cousin was there visiting too. He wanted to play with my toys but I told him no, and he started to cry. My grandmother sent me to her room to think about my actions. I was playing there with a small toy car, then it went under the bed. I reached for it and pulled out my grandma's dentures instead. I threw it across the room in fright and some teeth fell off. I started crying because I thought if I broke even some off, she couldn't use them anymore, and she would starve and die.
When I was younger, I had a room that shared a thin wall with my parents. I was about 4 to 6 years old, I heard noises coming from my closet and I naively thought it was a monster. I yelled," Stop you monster! I hate you!" And I threw my spare pillow at the door and fell asleep. It turns out, my mom was just on the other side trying to find her shoes.

When I was about 3-5 I thought I could shave like my dad and I ended up cutting myself all over.

I, to this day, believe that when I can't sleep at night it means I'm awake in someone else's dreams...
When I was little,I used to believe that when night came,I go to bed and start to fall asleep, ghosts come into my room.I thought that ghosts come out of the cupboard, creep out from under the bed. I was terrified, I covered my head with the sheets and couldn’t fall asleep. I heard footsteps of my imaginary ghosts, I thought I saw them. It was the most terrible fear of my childhood.
I didn't know what a toilet plunger was used for. But I remembered seeing in a cartoon once that a character ran around with one stuck to his face. So that's exactly what I did.
You can imagine my reaction when my dad told me what a toilet plunger was actually used for!
I used to think my closet was a gateway to another dimension, and I pretended it was. I watched a lot of TV shows with time-travel as a theme so I imagine that's why. I also thought there were monsters in there.
When my mum moved out into a different house there was this basement in the house that had 'Elvis lived here' and then it had a date on the wall saying when he lived there. She made me believe that Elvis Presley really lived in some random house in England and I really believed he was still alive, especially when I saw a Jerry Springer episode with this guy saying he was Elvis.
When I was little, my brother once told me that if you didn't shut the lid to the toilet when you flushed it, and if there wasn't a ceiling, then some of the water would go all the way to outer space. I imagined that a small amount of water (not enough to see) would be shot into the air when you flushed it, and it would then float up and up and up. I basically figured it just evaporated, which it does so I guess I wasn't that gullible...
I used to believe I could not look in the mirror if it was midnight. My friends used to tell me I would see a ghost..
when i was a kid, i used to believe that when i came down in my living room to drink at night, the TV and computer lights were robots and when i had my back turned they would jump on me. I sometimes still catch myself turning on the light so as not to be scared anymore.
I used to believe that at midnight, werewolves and giants would appear in our house and walk around. If we weren't asleep, or if we had any body parts hanging out of the covers, they would eat us. Whenever you had to use the bathroom at night, I thought they would give you 90 seconds to go and run back to bed.
When I was around 4, I was taking a bath. My dad pulled the drain plug and while I started watching the water swirl around the drain my dad casually told me to watch out that I don't get sucked down the drain. My dad still laughs when he recalls how I looked like a cat, all sprawled out, clawing my way out of the tub, onto the floor and out the door. Wet and naked I ran to my mom and explained to her what happened and she and my dad had a conversation about what not to say to a four year old. I am still afraid of drains. Thanks Dad.
I believed there was a monster under my bed, and that one night it was going to come out and grab me. The light switch was on the opposite wall from my bed, so I had to turn off the light and run and jump int bed to avoid getting caught. One night my brother was hiding under there, and as I jumped into the bed - he grabbed my ankles. I was TERRIFIED - my worst nightmare had come true.

When I was 5 I believed that if you plant a money plant the leaves would eventually turn into money. I would be careful while watering it to not get money wet.
I thought the lazy Susan( spinning wood shelf) on our dinner table was named after my mother. In fact years later I realized other people had one too. But there moms were not named Susan.
I thought that all of my dolls and stuffed animals were alive and hated me. I only really liked two of the stuffed animals and none of the dolls, but I believed that if they ever figured this out, the unloved ones would kill me. I made sure to look at each one the same amount of time so as not to show favoritism. At night, each one had to be in my bed and touching me so that it felt loved. If any of them stopped touching me before I fell asleep, I was sure that they would kill me. (Yeah, I have pretty significant OCD.)
