There used to be a big conch shell in my bathroom. I would listen to the "ocean" all the time. I would also talk into it believing I was talking to the sea life. I thought I could tell sharks not to hurt people, dolphins to swim closer to beach so I could see them better or to stay away from tuna nets, mermaids that I wouldn't hurt them if they said hi one day, and who knows what other ridiculous things I thought would help them!

In middle school, when we got a new refrigerator, I thought that we had two kinds of water. Regular water and then "light" water. My mom was trying to lose weight and so I told her to drink the light water. I still get made fun of to this day.

When I was young, just after the dinosaurs died, our TV repairman had two hooks because his hands had been amputated (war injury, perhaps, as it was just after Korea?). He also was the repairman for everyone in the neighborhood. I came to the conclusion, that in order to become a TV repairman, you had to have your hands replaced by hooks, steep price to pay for an occupation.

I was afraid of the toilet flushing when I was little. I would use the toilet, wash my hands, and then flush -- and sprint out of the room immediately. I thought if you stayed in the bathroom until the end of the flush a witch came up and grabbed you, and I have NO idea where this belief came from!

I believed that there was *something* that lived below all toilets that would reach up and pull you down when you flushed. For years I simply never flushed the toilet, or I would flush and run for my life!!

I saw a heartwarming movie about a kid and wolves, but because I was deaf I misunderstood it, thought it was terrifying, and thought wolves lived under my bed and would eat my feet if I got out of bed at night. My mom gave my windex to spray as wolf repeller, which seemed to work pretty well. Nearly 30 years and still no wolves under the bed.

I personally used to believe that if I yelled into the sink loudly enough, my message would echo and travel through the pipes, into the other bathroom's sink exit, or shower exit and that they would hear me talking to them... They never did.

On my first day of school we did a practice fire drill and where taught how we should line up outside, in front of the school in the event of a fire alarm. What our teacher didn't tell us, however, was that this only applied to school. So...a couple days later when I was at home with my parents, my mom was cooking something when she accidentally set off the fire alarm. I quickly dropped everything I was doing, opened the door and ran outside, expecting that my parents would follow me and we would "line up" in front of our house, just like at school.

When I was 4, I believed that if I "planted" a lollipop stick in my sandbox, a lollipop tree would grow. I did this in wintertime, and when the weather unraveled the paper from around the stick, I took it to mean that the lollipop tree was actually growing!

I used to believe that sleeveless shirts were called I shirts instead of T shirts because the sleeves of T shirts made the T and the lack of sleeves made an I.

i use to think, mirrors were like doors to this other world in heads and could travel to other places through them

when i was 3-to about 8 or 9 years old i thought that the little hole at the top of the sink (the thing that drains it if it overflows)would go to africa for the people that didnt have water so i would be in the bathroom for a while cupping water in my hand for the poor.

I believe that when I sleep toys come alive.I try to catch them by telling my sister that I was coming downstairs to play with her,and carefully I try to peep through the keyhole.I still believe that and I am scared because I don't really play with them and they might come against me.So I suggest to put a camera when they are not looking and see if they are real or not.

When I was 6 years old, I used to watch ''Flushed Away'' and I used to believe that when I flush the toilet, a mouse, dressed like a real person, would come out the flushing button.

When I was really little, like 4-5, I thought that any word that ended in an -ie sound was a nickname for a longer word. So when I heard 'panties' I thought for sure that had to be short for something, and I assumed it was 'pantanes.' I think I called underwear 'pantanes' for years! LOL

I got in trouble when I was little for taking the 'flat' batteries out of the garbage because they were clearly still round.

When I was little an uncle told me that lots of little men with razor sharp teeth and long pointy fingernails lived under my bed and would get me if I got out of bed at night. I was so scared I spent most of my childhood jumping from my bed to my door to go to the bathroom at night and then running and leaping from my door back into bed.

It took my mom years to figure out why she always heard thumping from my room at night. It was me jumping in and out of bed.

I believed that the water droplets in the strainer-like shower drain after my shower were the eyes of little drain creatures that would blink and eventually disappear when the water was all gone .

When I was little and living in my grandmother's house, the bathroom was right above the dark and mysterious laundry/storage room. I thought that when I flushed the toilet it woke up the monsters down there and I only had until the water stopped running to get out of the bathroom before the monsters reached it. Needless to say, I didn't wash my hands very well.
