I believed the only way to protect myself from the alligator under my bed, was to wrap my feet in my baby blanket. I did that every night. Wrapped my feet in the blanket - then slid under the sheets. I couldn't sleep unless I did that!

I used to believe not only that a scary monster/dude lived under my bed, but that one lived behind my headboard too. I had to run/jump to get into bed and then it was a race against time to get my entire body covered up, including my head and get the covers/blankets all tucked under me---under toes, legs, arms, and head. It didn't matter that I was roasting in those blankets...I was "safe."

When I was a child I used to believe that when I turned the lights off before going to bed I needed to rush to go to bed before being caught by a monster.

I used to believe there was a big fierce gorilla under my bed at night. When I came into my room, I would turn off the light and jump into the top bunk as soon as possible, breathing a sigh of relief that the gorilla didn't get me.

My brother used to believe that if he didn't fall asleep by 12 o'clock, a vampire would come up from under his bed and bite him. The bite would give him nightmares that night.

When I was 4-6, my uncle moved into a new house. He had a huge basement with a wooden staircase. Due to the Home Alone series which I loved, I was afraid to climb down the stairs because I thought I'd fall through

When I was about 6 I used to believe there were crocodiles living under my bed. My dad used to pretend to drag them out and flush them down the toliet, I wouldn't sleep until he'd supposably got rid of them all.

When I was younger, I was always afraid of being in the basement by myself if it was dark, so if I was turning off the lights at night, I would run up the stairs. After I turned off the lights, I was convinced that monsters came out and had a party in my basement.
