when i was of the age to belive that monsters lurked under my bed, i belived that during the night e portal opened in wich the mosters crawled threw into my bed room. i was quite frightened and refused to look under the bed at night! i also used to hear my cat meow outside of my door at night and for some odd reason assumed that the cat had somehow gotten into my room and crawled under my bed. i had a bunck bed like thing with a slide and no bottom bed. i thought that the monsters put an apple in his mouth and was roasting him over a camp fire!

when i was about 6 i thought that behind the mirror was a whole other world and the mirror was really a window. so i used to walk up to the window and invite my reflection to come over for a play date. i was quite dissapointed when " my friend from the other world" didn't show up!
I used to think that if I was all tucked up in the covers, no one could hurt me. Like, if someone tried to stab me, it wouldn't reach me because of the covers. And I used ot think I was protected from ghosts. I always had the covers al the way to my neck, even in the sweltering heat!
Funnily enough, now I can't sleep with the cover off
I used to believe that at night lazers would come out of the wall plugs and zap me, so once I was tucked in I stayed put. I used to run really fast to the bathroom because then the lazers couldn't keep up.
I used to be totally convinced if I was in the bath tub when the plug was pulled something would reach out of the drain and pull me in. I would get out, dry off and get my parents to pull the plug while I hid behind the door. I convinced my little sister of this one too.
I believed that the word "contents" was a verb and meant "explodes". Why? Cans around my parents' home all had printed upon them the same thing: "Warning: contents under pressure". I figured that if you squeezed the can, it would explode. I handled all cans very carefully for a very, very long time!
when i was younger i watched this movie on Disney called "Don't Look Under the Bed" and it was about the Boogie man and i thought it was real. So every night I would turn out my light and literally jump in my bed and sleep as close to the wall as i possiably could. When I had to clean under m y bed it had to be in the daytime. And to this day, and I'm 15, i hurry to get in my bed and i never look under there at night unless the light is on.
I used to believe…
for some reason i used to believe there was a witch hiding in my closet. I thought i could see her eyes glowing between the slats, and I would put the covers over my head and try to breathe without letting my chest rise or fall, so that she wouldn't know I was there.
When I was nine I watched the movie "The Blair Witch Project." I also had this very small trap door in my closet that opened up to a large room filled with insulation. At the far end I could see broken pottery and a newspaper and decided only someone who could fly could get over there without falling through. Therefore my brother managed to convince me that she lived in the door in my closet. For a year after that I slept in his room because I was so scared.
When I was a kid I thought the toaster would blow up if I didn't hurry to pick up the bread when it was done. Why? My siblings used to joke about it when they thought I was too slow picking it up and I thought they were serious.
When I was very young, I thought that mirrors were lying to me about how I looked (ie, I really had blue eyes instead of brown). I would get dressed up in different outfits and jump out in front of the mirror to try to trick it into showing me what I really looked like.

I used belive when all the people were out of the house. All the inanimmate objects would have a party.
I use to believe that John Goodman hung in a trench coat in my closet at night and would peek out of it to scare me...Apparently the sitcom Rosanne scared the hell out of me
I used to belive that under my bed lived a spider family and when I got up at night I had to jump out of my bed because I used to belive that they would catch me.
I used to believe that there were whole other worlds on the insides of mirrors and that when I looked into them, I was just catching a glimpse of another universe. The girl in the mirror and I just happened to look at each other at the exact same time and wear the same clothing, but our lives were otherwise fairly different.
The flip side to this were reflections in glass. Especially at night, I always thought I'd be able to see ghosts in them if I just looked long enough.
I used to believe that when you were standing in front of a mirror, there was a camera behind it that taped everything you did. I never undressed in front of a mirror and I would always end up talking to it. I sometimes still catch myself "putting on a show" for the camera behind the mirror.
As a child I had this continuous dream of walking into my closet where there was a hidden passage way to a store owned by my mother. It was only until the third or fourth time after having this dream, that one morning when i woke up i actually went straight to that closet to look for this "secret" passage way. I was a little let down when i realized it wasnt there.
Somehow I was raised washing my hands in cold water, even though today my parents use warm. I used to believe that most people used cold, and that using warm water made you a weirdo. I finally realized the truth on a sixth grade field trip, but I still get very irritated when the water in public restrooms comes out hot at first courtesy of the "weirdo" :) who used the sink before me.

I used to think there was a fox living under my bed. Every night I'd literally jump into my bed so the fox couldn't grab my feet and get me.
